  6. Ultima variety was produced from 01/10/96 to 01/03/97 in 2.8 V6 4x4 auto box only ... 6 leather seats, 9 spoke alloys and traction control as standard in addition to the Ghia X trim. ...... Nice Gals you have there and probably not many left! :) I maybe 3000+ miles away from my tech info but IIRC the Ultima wasnt a 4x4 :) have a look at tjis http://www.parkers.co.uk/choosing/carrevie...px?model_id=239
  7. Try this, hold your foot lightly on the brake and if the pedal feels as if it is creeping to the floor then i would suspect that the master cylinder seals are failing, i would suspect this if there are no visual signs of fluid leaks  hope this helps
  8. look on the plus side , no massive repair bills for aircon ;) :D about
  9. sounds like they have fooked up big time when they changed the cambelt and are trying to cover up the fact :( ,when you get the car back i would be inclined to get a written statement as to what they repaired and the reason why, engine out for replacement cv joint my arse , misfiring probally because they have damaged the engine with poor cambelt fit in the first place, start thratening with solicitor time me thinks ;)
  10. Thats coz they cant afford to get it fixed at Frauds!!..or coz they got a biiiiiiiiigggggggggggg family!! :D :D :D Yep thats me!! NO money and 4 girls............. is it still the tradition for the father of the bride to pay for the wedding?:P :D :D :D :D
  11. Just a wild stab in the dark but having read through the aux heater threads it sounds like it could possibly be that especially with diesel/paraffin smell being present, you never know  try disconnecting the wire from heater and see if that helps
  12. Yep, Sizewell B Nuclear Power Station. :D Do you glow in the dark? :D ;)
  13. The windows thing happened to me also so i would imagine that is normal, the bit about the mpg going between 85 and 179 mpg for about 5 mins could be the setting for mpg on setting no:2 as oppossed to being on setting no:1 fully loaded and roofbox (5passengers and luggage in area where 7th seat removed) at average of 75/80mph the higest average i got was about 37mpg this with climate control on at all times , yesterday went to leeds 3 passengers no roofbox climate on average 75/80mph highest mpg just over 43mpg , i don't think aircon/climate makes much difference to overall consumption i have been advised that it increases consumption between 3/5 % so not that bad
  14. Hello mate thanks for the message regarding remap :( i'll be keeping an eye out for his special deals, i am interested in what you said about the recirc flap not working, this is what showed up on my mates vag com and i was wondering if you have climate control and if so does the panel flash on start up, mine does and i was looking to change the recirc flap solenoid to try and cure the problem.
  15. Thanks mate  looking at that whole unit i would say that part looks like it might be behind the glovebox area, i'll have a look tomorrow
  16. Cheers mate as i have climate control reading the descriptions it is no 21 now just to find out what it's like to fit   so if anyone out there has fitted one of these a bit of advice would be most welcome :(
  17. Thanks for the diagram , just need to know which part it is  and what's it like to fit, definitely the recirc not working i think  as there is no change to the air flow when recirc is engaged
  18. back from france and i,m :( to be back and :( as no replies or advice for my diagram on recirc flap solenoid location , anyway fantastic holiday and the old gal never missed a beat after covering 1950 miles in 2 weeks, the only thing was that i put in the wrong tyre pressure in the rears and under inflated them my 12psi  i put in 38 when it should have been 50 lucky not to have had a mishap me thinks
  19. Speak to you in a couple of weeks off to france tomorrow hopefully when i get back one of you lovely people :) will have found some diagrams for me regarding recirc flap motor :D au revoir!!!!
  20. do you know where the recirc flap solenoid is fitted indeed the recirc flap itself would be nice to locate :) :D
  21. when you have climate on and say blower speed is at level 4 when you engage recirc mode should the blower sound like and feel like it has increased in speed but still remaining at level 4, and does anyone have any diagrams of where the flap/motor solenoids are located please  thanks in advance
  22. i had my condenser replaced last month and it was leaking on the top left corner where the reciever drier is situated ,it must be a common fault on this particular part  anyway still working well just need to sort out the outside recirc flap and it should stop the panel flashing :)
  23. still have flashing panel, mate loaded vag com and fault showed recirc flap fault any ideas as what is at fault, do i need a new solenoid to fix problem ? By the way aircon nice and cold/cool as temp reading was 40 celisius earlier
