Phoned the dealer up today and told him i had been in touch with ford and that the belt needed to be changed ar 40,000 he sounded a bit gutted :angry: the ford agent qouted me

will have to wait until a blank comes up but have found a auto locksmith who will supply complete key and programme it for

but i need a new key and it has a transponder in it that needs programming, the remote entry is easy to do i have done this myself on my passat

best thing to do when topping up oil is pour a little bit in at a time and read the stick each time this way you will get correct level although it will take a bit longer .

Sorry banjoed around here means knackered :rolleyes: if it is running ok then i would try switch but make sure you drain the oil back to the correct level ;)

well if it was the oil pump and you drove it for an hour the engine would be banjoed by now so would be inclined to try a new switch and see how it goes but drain the excess oil as this could damage the turbo and cat if it has one fitted.

hor far have you driven it since the light stayed on?

It takes about five litres when drained, on min about a pint or half a litre should bring it back to norm, when you pulled over to check oil did you let engine stand fir a few mins to let all the oil drain back to the sump and did you dip it on level ground? if it is on level ground now and is showing over the max by a cm you will need to drain some .

the first thing to do would be to get the oil down to the correct level as if it is a cm over the mark there is way to much in there, then i would try a new oil light switch as this could have failed. hope it's the switch let us know how you get on :lol:

Hello all :blink: new memer after some advice please, have just purchased a galaxy 1.9tdi today 2001 plate, can someone advise me at what mileage the cambelt should be replaced on this model ? and i noticed when starting up the climate control panel was flashing and the aircon was not blowing very cold is this likely to be a problem at a later date? the dealer said he would get the aircon regassed ,will this cure the problem or is it a new condenser job? Thanks
