  1. A/C problem was the "O" rings. Took the wife with me and she had a moan about the warranty, or lack of it. They explained the conditions of the warranty, which basically covers major stuff, however, because it wasn't made clear at the time I purchased it they have waived all charges. :) So I'm very happy.
  2. No a/c parts covered by the warranty as the car has done over 40k. They don't tell you all this when you buy the warranty. Anyway, they think it may be the "O" rings. Waiting to hear the news.
  3. I've got a Nokia car kit in my Galaxy and the aerial is fitted to the inside of the front windscreen on the passenger side. My son goes playing war games at a remote site and you can't get a signal on a hand held phone. Put the phone in the car and you get a signal. Never had any problems with interference etc and I've got a heated front screen.
  4. Thanks seatkid. They want
  5. Hi I have a used car warranty which specifies all suspension parts, except bushes are covered. So, I booked the car in to have the front drop links replaced as they were knocking only to be told they are not covered by the warranty. Am I correct in thinking that the drop links are a suspension part and not a bush? I look forward to your comments so I can take the matter up with the dealer. The A/C is leaking from the compressor, hopefully this is covered by the warranty as well as the exceptions here are pipework. The dealer seems to think that it is covered but I'll find out tomorrow.
  6. Yeah, take the seats out and strap it down with the seat belts which are now surplus to requirements. It would certainly impress those boy racers with their nova's and corsa's.
  7. When retracting the pistons slacken off the bleed nipple so the excess fluid comes out there. DON'T FORCE THE FLUID BACK THROUGH THE SYSTEM OTHERWISE YOU CAN DAMAGE THE ABS SYSTEM WITH CONTAMINATED FLUID.
  8. It could be a lazer problem. Insist they change the unit under warranty. Like you say, I can't see it being a generic problem. Are you risking playing your original DVD's or are you using a back-up? If you are using a back-up make sure they are DVD-R format for better compatibility.
  9. Thanks VR6, I'll pass the info on. They said they would re-charge it for free, maybe not now
  10. Hi Can anybody tell me how much 134a there is the air con system. I've got two pieces of info on a sticker:- 1. 700g + 50g 2. 1045g + 50g An air con company who is coming to service my home air con says he would regass mine if he knew how much refridgerent the system takes. Am I also right that the system needs a lubricant? Thanks.
  11. You should just switch it on and it will as for "CODE". As it's been said check connections/fuses.
  12. Check the middle seat, second row, for a three point seat belt fixing.
  13. Roof box springs to mind :)
  14. Try disconnecting the battery for about a minute. Hopefully it may reset itself.
  15. A "petrolhead" here. :P I had a bad smell of petrol whilst driving with the window down. Ended up with a new fuel filler assembly, it was fixed under warranty. Something to do with a faulty closure valve if I remember rightly.
  16. I hope it's a typo. If I rev mine in drive it flies off down the road :)
  17. Check under the front passenger seat to see if it's wet. That's were the sensor electronics are. If it's wet do a search for rear windscreen washer leaking.
  18. Just had a thought. Years ago graphic equalizers were all the rage. You actually connected the radio speaker wires to it and then installed your big speakers. Watched all the rust bounce off my old Beetle  . I'm sure graphic equalizers are still around, may be worth looking in to rather than using an amp. They are normally multi channel so you can set the sound to your own preference.
  19. Pleased it worked ok. Don't put to much bass in, knowing the Galaxy something will fall off
  20. Forgot to say, the plug connects to your empty socket. The wire normally a bit short so that's probably why it's come of when you removed the radio.
  21. It's for the Automatic Volume Control. Re-connect it and you should find the volume goes up with the ambient noise of the vehicle. You can select the amount it goes up by using the menu button. You won't have the AVC option at the moment if the plug is disconnected. Hope this helps.
  22. It's back, any other ideas anyone?
  23. Denis Just been for a drive and the noise has stopped. The extra tweak on the spare wheel carrier must have been enough. Thanks for your input.
  24. Spare wheel was secure.
