  1. Yeah done mine the other week. I dismantled a wooden clothes peg, the ones with the spring on, and then used the two pieces to prise the clock out of the dashboard. Because the peg is wooden it don't damage the dash. It's a panel lamp and just twists a quarter turn anti-clockwise to release. The bulb cost
  2. When driving along in my 2.3 Zetec with a window open I get a strong smell of petrol. The car has been in and out the garage for some time now trying to find the fault. To date they've replaced a kinked pipe and the roll-over valve but I still get the same problem. Well they have had the care for a week now and have tested the three remaining valves on the fuel system but can't find anything wrong with them. As the car is still under manufacturers warranty they are going to replace all three valves. All I can say is the fuel system must be really complicated. Anyone else having problems?
  3. The petrol engines have hydraulic valve adjusters, or tappets, and can "rattle" until the oil pressure builds up. They can take a few seconds before they work correctly. It is more noticable if the engine hasn't been started for some time, could be the case if the ones you have viewed have been on garage forecourts some time. With day to day use I would doubt if you would notice any sound at all, I don't with mine. If the noise persists I would look at another vehicle as it could mean the hydraulic tappets or even the camshafts need changing. Help this helps.
  4. Another point to note. If your vehicle has tyre sizes other than the factory fit then your insurance may be void.
