Also check the pipe feeding the rear screen washer. There is a join in the footwell area and it's common for it to come apart.

Ford must be aware of the access problem to the condensor because my fibreglass shroud, whatever it's called, has pre-drilled holes in it giving access to the bolts behind. Might be worth trying to find out what the Ford brief is for removing the condensor. I wouldn't mind betting it's on a similar theme to what they've done to your vehicle, obviuosly in a much better way. Still no excuse for the damage they have done though.

Sounds like the trim on the outside of the windscreen. :angry:

Does it happen more at speed? The plastic trim that runs along the bottom edge of the windscreen (outside) is known to rattle against the windscreen and it can sound like the rattle is inside. Some delicate twisting, tweaking and padding out normally cures it. You could always turn the radio up :huh:

The humming noise is probably the auxilliary water pump that runs for a few minutes when you switch. At least that bit's ok :huh: You should here a noise like a jet engine winding down, that's the aux heater. I could be the aux heater or thermostat or a combination of both. If Ford suspect the aux heater they will probably try a get you to pay for a new one, expensive. Try and pursuade them to try the glow plug first, a much cheaper option. Good luck.

I agree with VR6. You're new to this forum and should take peoples advice and calm down. VR6 puts a lot of info on this site and I'm sure he has helped a lot of people out. We don't want new members driving him away.

I don't seem to notice that much difference on fuel consumption. Like you I have a diesel and I still get aroung 40mpg around town. If my A/C compressor was to seize through lack of use I wouldn't get much change out of

Sorry about that, I sometimes get carried away with abbreviations. There was one post on this forum about A/C and I think it had around 1,000 posts last time I looked. I always leave my CC (Climate Control <_< ) on auto all year round.

If you look further you will find that the A/C system fitted on Galaxys' and it's variants is very, very, very unreliable. You have probably done nothing wrong, it's a crap system and you will be expected to pay out for repairs from time to time. I'm sure someone will back me up on this. However, it's a known fact that if you leave the CC running all year round, things appear to last longer.

It could go on for sometime or fail immediately. I would get it sorted asap for peace of mind.

Worn auxilliary drive belt I would think. Usually have to replace the tensioner as well, not cheap :(

Try running a CD cleaner through it. Could be a dirty or knackered laser.

Usually dry CV Joints.

Have you tried completely disconnecting it and then powering it back up again. It may reset the unit.
