No Speedo And Dancing Fuel Gauge
mrben replied to tona955's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Did anyone get this fixed? -
okee dokee.

Hello chaps. Anyone ever a problem of dancing speedo? Rev counter always worked fine, but speedo stoped working about 6 months ago, after heavy rain if i remember correctly. Now it intermittently comes back, but all over the place. I could be stationary with engine running, but speedo reads 90 mph, and the mileage goes up accordingly....Anyone else had this? Thanks in advance.

Galaxy Mk1 Tdi Idler Pulley Bouncing
mrben replied to babycakes2003's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Mine was bouncing and it was the alt pulley. It was seized. Got off ebay for 40/50 odd quid. Took a photo of the numbers off the alternator and emailed to chap. You need to do that as apparently there is a couple of different ones.... -

What Sensor Is This Please?
mrben replied to mrben's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Ah how strange, because never (touch wood) had any trouble starting or running, and the temp gauge has always worked. Warms up to about half way, seems like normal temp. maybe il connect it and drive around for a bit and see what happens?? -

Also, number was spot on seatkid. (the four pin one, but when you take it apart, it seems only the two middle pins are doing anything?) -
Brake Light Switch Part No.?
mrben replied to mrben's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hello all/seatkid. This seems to be what happens to brake light switch/s, pictures should be above. One side of the copper strips seems to soot up, fouling the connection. As for the ratchet system, i cant understand that, as when you take your foot off the brake, the ratchet gets pushed all the way back in anyway!... -

Under Tray/splash Guard Mk1
mrben replied to mrben's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
ok thanks chaps. -
Hello all. Would anyone know where is the best place to source an under tray for a Mk1 diesel galaxy? I'v heard the pattern part one you can get on ebay is not too good, and i'm better off with a genuine second hand one... Thanks.

Fitting A New Brake Light Switch
mrben replied to tim-spam's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Great thread. Had same problem. Wiggled the switch first and brake lights started working, so have sprayed a bit of wd40, and they're working again now, so might get away with the switch for a while.... -
Boot Wires Re-directing Advice
mrben replied to mrben's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Well, i think its the sharp right angle into the boot thats no good for them. Been fixed a couple of times. Thinking of cutting them all, pulling them out of the boot pillar, then re-joining them, so you'll see the loom everytime you open the boot, but better than them always cutting. Running out of wire to play with, they've been joined that many times!... -
Has anyone re-directed their boot wires to prevent them chopping? Just wondering whats the best way?...
