Hi Spark. Yes had alignment done after bits thanks. I'm starting to think its a bearing problem, thats what the noise sounds like. (Sorry i didn't realise you had replied)

I'm starting to think now that the vibration is not the wishbone, and something to do with the o/s driveshaft assembly. What is the bit called that actually goes into the gearbox, and how do you get it out? Does this part have a bearing? As the vibration does feel like a bearing worn, but wheel bearing doesn't have any play. (i have a 2 hour drive later, and i don't know if it will make it it, as getting progressively worse!) Thanks all, and happy Christmas.

Hello. Did you find the problem?, as this is what I believe is exactly happening to mine. Vibration getting a lot worse now, especially on power going up a hill and around a corner. Totally disappears though when you take your foot off the power...Thanks in advance. -

Hello all. Is there a way to test the wishbone? I'm getting an odd steering fault. Car seems to wonder a bit when going over cambers/manholes in the road. Feels like your fighting the steering a bit.2 new tie rod ends, and 1 newish inner tie rod, they seem ok with no play. Bottom ball joints don't seem to have any play, I'm wondering if it can be wishbone bushes? There is also a slight wobble starting to occur when putting your foot down going up a hill. Feels like its coming from the front left. Could be connected to wondering steering fault?? Thanks for any info

Many thanks again Brian, and gregers. Its gonna be a while before I get to tackle it, but I will let you know how it went etc. Cheers.

Hi Brian. Many thanks indeed for all that info. I can almost guarantee that I have broken the wire, as I turned the wheel right around and heard a chonk. Is it easy to get to for me to inspect/change? As always, many thanks.

Erm...What is a clock spring? Is it possible I've damaged it when replacing steering rack? (as airbag light has come on) thanks

Hi chaps. Can I get away with putting a cheaperwithoutid in? The recommended one is £10 for a litre bottle, but its getting through that in a couple of days. Can't get a new rack on just yet, and thinking/wondering if cheaper fluid is ok for steering to work?...without knackering the pump Cheers. mk2 diesel
