  1. They're coming to make sure that all this extra money being promised for science teachers is not going to waste. :) :D :D Andy.
  2. The kids have DVD screens on the back of the headrests so tried to put the player in the centre box but just a bit too big , so now just full of crap The three notches on either side of the storage box are so you can easily remove the
  3. Nice outfit but it may pay you to black out your reg. nos. in the pics. Can't be too careful with the vehicle cloning that goes on today!!!! :D ....got a bit tight on the drive!!..... best to leave the drink alone when you are behind the wheel. :P :P Andy.
  4. It was really slow yesterday for me too, I thought it may have been Tiscali as they are just upgrading the feed to 8mb and warned me that I might suffer some problems, but it seems it is more widespread. Going a bit quicker tonight though. :P Andy.
  5. Jeeeezzz that must be something special if he's going to charge you a grand for IT  :D :D Andy.
  6. I hope no-one played the modern version Harold's little game; 'I spy with my little eye something beginning with R........' :D Andy.
  7. Hi Gooner, thanks for the comments. I sat in a new Focus at the same time as I was looking at the C-Max. The driving position in the C-Max is a lot better, more upright like the Galaxy, and the dash mount gear stick seems better too. Rear seating is more versatile(see post 4 above). Focus might have a bigger boot though and there are more of them to choose from and probably a bit cheaper. Just before I got mine I spoke to a chap who had had a brand new C-Max for two weeks after previously driving a Focus(dont know which Mk. or model) and he said the C-Max was much more comfortable especially doing the M'way miles that he does. :D Andy.
  8. Oh No!!!! Please Sir! not the cane again!!!! :D  After further enquires it seems as though the unit has the code supplied with it but does not need it, it just starts up as normal when the power is connected and doesn't ask for the code???? :D Andy.
  9. I am looking to upgrade my single CD unit to an in-dash 6 CD unit. I want to stick with OEM but now have a choice because of the Sony units offered as an option for the later Double Din units as fitted to my C- Max. Most Sony units on Ebay are going for about
  10. Here's my two on a good night :16: Yes! there are grapes growing over the frame behind them  No! we dont live in France :16: just hope they all ripen before we get any frosts :16: Andy
  11. Wonder if they'll let me sneak in with the C-Max?? :) Andy.
  12. :D :D :D :P :D :D :D :D :D
  13. umm thats scuppered that then how about two boosterseats and a child seat ?? Might just do it if one of the booster seats was one of the older types without the bits that stick up on each side to hold the seat belt down. The two outer seats have the provision for the ISOFIX brackets, the latest ones have side and full length curtain airbags, it is the first car in its class to achieve a 4 star Euro NCAP rating for child protection and the interior has been passed by TUV and the British Allergy Foundation as providing an allergy free environment.(Well thats what the brochure says). :D Andy.
  14. What did kids eat before Pringles were invented? ;) Andy.
  15. Hi Nik, well its obviously not in the Galaxy league for overall room but as its over a foot shorter and only a 5 seater it does well enough. It is a little wider than the Gal with all 4 doors having a 4" wide flat top making great armrests. The front headroom is under an inch less than the Gal. The 3 rear seats are split 40/20/40 and in the Zetec and Ghia the middle one folds up and back allowing the two outer ones to slide back and inwards giving more leg and shoulder room. In normal back seat mode there is still greater minimum leg room and headroom(a few mm's) than in the Gal. All rear seats have 3 point retracting seat belts. They can also fold flat, tip up or be removed to provide more luggage space. With the middle seat folded flat it provides an effective barrier between my 12 and 7 year old boys who normally occupy the rear!!!! It would probably be a push to get 3 child seats across the back but 2 would be no problem. The luggage space in 5 seat mode is greater than New/Old Galaxy and S-Max in 7 seat mode and in 2 seat mode is greater than the others in 5 seat mode. I did a little experiment and got 9 full Tesco carriers flat on the boot floor in 5 seat mode(who needs the VDA method?). Lots of cubby holes and a large glovebox provide room for all the usual odds and ends and I think there are 6 bottle/cup holders dotted about the place.....oh! and the 2.0 TDCi is good for 125mph!!!! ;) Andy.
  16. Finally got a bit of sunshine and a relatively clean car to be able to take a pic of my new C-Max. Really impressed with it upto now, very solid, very quiet, a great driving position and very economical; 50mph @ 1500 rpm = 53 mpg. Bugger to keep clean though!!!!   Andy
  17. Kingsmead Ford in Bath have a sideline in Kias and to really appreciate how good the Galaxy is you just have to see one parked next to a Sedona. Interestingly in the Caravan Club article it is in the Sedona that the air-conditioning unit was the most troublesome breakage.  :o Andy
  18. COME ON YOU TOFFEES!!! Good to have another member from the right side of Stanley Park! That makes three of us then. I too am in exile after spending my formative years in Kirkby. At least here in the relative calm, football wise, of the West Country Monday mornings aren't a matter of life or death like they used to be when I went to school in the '60's. :( :( Andy.
  19. Make sure it is a Mk3 that you are looking at!!!!!! :D :D Andy. oh i will..i'll just look for the box on wheels :D :D cant believe you dont believe me :D anyway..wen i post a pic..you will owe me a pint! :D :D Perhaps you could offer the pic to Fords for their next brochure. :D Andy
  20. Make sure it is a Mk3 that you are looking at!!!!!! :D :D Andy.
  21. In the brochures for the Mk1 and Mk2 they make a big thing about the convertable child seats but no mention at all in the Mk3, could it be possible that Marion was dreaming or did the salesman see her coming........ :D :D :D :D Andy.
  22. Hi Nik, There is no mention of the convertable child seats in the 'New Galaxy' brochure just various Britax ones with ISOFIX mounting points. As the seats in the new one fold flat rather than come out it would have to be a factory fit option if other seats were available?? Andy.
  23. 'Airport Carz' operate out of most UK airports and must buy/lease hundreds of Galaxys. They keep them for 6-9 months and put upto 60k miles on them. They are mostly Tdi Zetec manuals and are usually serviced locally to the airport they operate from. Winford Ford look after the Bristol ones and they regularly have a batch for sale at reasonable prices considering the above average milage. Andy.
