  1. I removed my scuff plate by first peeling back the rubber strip along its rear edge and then gently prying a bit at a time along the plates full length. It made a horrible 'ripping' noise as the serrated plastic clips came out of their holes but it didn't bend, thankfully. Bit of a fiddle trying to get all the clips to line up with their respective holes when you put it back though. :P Andy.
  2. Taking the seats out will lighten the load by 18kgs/seat, worth thinking about when working out a safe towing weight. Andy.
  3. I towed a 4 berth Bailey to Spain a couple of times with a MK1 2.3 Ghia manual with no problems. MPG suffered a bit, down to about 19 or 20, but that was with 4 up and quite well loaded. With a good stabiliser it should tow without too many problems. Andy.
  4. The towbar on my last Galaxy was fitted in place of the bumper bar and didn't require the bumper cover to be cut. IIFC it was a case of removing the bumper cover, unbolting the bumper bar and then bolting the towbar in its place before replacing the cover. The parking sensors were unaffected and the wiring went up into the right rear corner where the connections were made below the right rear light assembly. I'm afraid I dont know what make it was. Hope this helps. Andy.
  5. INMO I would definately go for a stabiliser. If funds are available I would opt for the AL-CO type that is part of the caravan hitch. They are a great improvement on the spring type (Snakemaster, etc). :D Andy.
  6. The cars gone but the metal bracket is still in the cupboard under the stairs!!!!! Andy.
  7. Dont know how much cash you have waiting but the only two child seats on Ebay at the moment are leather ones at
  8. Having dealt with the queue jumpers using the outside lane approaching a road narrowing what are we going to do about the ones that USE THE HARD SHOULDER!!!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

  14. Not all that much smaller: S-Max is 4.76 m long, 1.85 m wide and 1.61 m tall, this makes it 6 cm shorter and 7 cm lower than the Galaxy. Andy.
  15. XP 2 contains Service Pack 2 that should make Windows more secure. It is available as a free, I think, download from Microsoft you can order a disc from the same site. If your version of WindowsXP is less than 2 years old it should already have Service Pack 2 from new. Andy.

  18. Same thing happened to the girl second from the right in MM's photo!! From what I understand you need an antivirus package, such as AVG, to scan your emails and a firewall, such as Zonealarm, to protect from external access attempts. Do you run XP2?, if so, then most of the images that arrive in emails will be blocked by default, you should have a bar across the top of your preview pane in Outlook Express that you have to click on to show the images. The same will happen in Internet Explorer if pop-ups are on the page. You have to click to allow the pop-ups. Andy.
  19. I use AVG, which is also available as a free download, for my antivirus and Zonealarm for the firewall and email filter, they work fine together and I no longer have to suffer the problems of Norton causing everything to be soooooo slowwwwww!! ;) Andy.
  20. I can still see your bum gyrating even with Zonealarm. :D Did you get the PRO version or just the bog standard FREE firewall? I've just got the firewall and I have no problems with Ebay. You have to make sure that the windowsXP firewall is turned OFF so that Zonealarm is the only one running. ;) Andy.
  21. Towing, you'll be looking at about 20-25mpg so you should get about 300 miles out of a tank depending on all the usual variables. ;) Andy.
  22. Hi MO4 I've installed Zonealarm on 5 different computers for friends and family and upto now have had no problems. Get the updates as and when they notify and it just works away in the background. It will ask everytime a new programme wants to access the internet and you just have to tick the box if you're happy to let it. Once you've given permission for a programme it wont ask again. You can change the settings manually from the Control Centre. Just had a look and the firewall has blocked over 19000 external attempts to access my computer since beginning of the year!!!!! ;) Andy.
  23. IIRC The Mazda Tribute has the same 2.0l Zetec engine as the Mk3 Ford Maverick. The V6 option is a 3.0l Duratec in both models. :D Andy.
  24. I suppose the same could be said of a vindaloo!! :D Andy.
