Just a thought, isn't it law in Germany to have two sets of tyres, one for winter and one for summer? Andy.

Rattle From Dash Area
AndeeeH replied to Galaxy23's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Hi Paul, Had the same problem on my 2000 Mk2. Drove me bonkers as it was intermittant but seemed to get worse on long runs. Couldn't find what was causing the rattle but cured the noise by forcing a strip of window draught proofing foam into the gap between the end of the dashboard and the body in front of the door frame. I think this was enough to force the end of the dash against what ever was inside it causing the rattle. ;) Andy. -
Is there anyone who doesn't own a tartan travel rug???? Andy.

Hey BJ where are your hands!!!!!!!!! Andy.

There are 5 years between my two so we found it better if the oldest, now 11 travelled in the front, while my other half travelled in the back with the youngest, now 6. Have used the same arrangement since he was born 3 Galaxies ago. The biggest thing on long journeys is keeping them occupied: plenty of books, coloured pencils(not wax crayons) and paper for drawing, games, music, food and drink. It works for us, it has to if we are going to make the most of our holiday where every hour spent in the car is one less on the beach. Andy.

My 3 year old was quite happy to travel thousands of miles in his 'grown-up' seat. With the seat belt tucked behind the additional neck rest it fitted perfectly and he never once tried to escape. Andy.

Alan is that the seat that is also suitable for an adult if you fold the backrest up to hide the baby harness? If so it should also be fine for toddlers if you leave the sitting part in the 'up' position exposing the footrest and using the normal seat belt. Andy.

I'm actually in the inside lane, the area to the right of the thicker white lines on the bridge is the hard shoulder, a strictly no-go area(except in dire emergencies) when driving in France punishable with an on the spot fine of

Beautiful and practical, saved us over an hour and a half on the same journey from the previous year, the drag up out of Millau on the old road was a nightmare especially stuck behind a couple of cattle lorries. <_< Andy.

Decent service stations are their limit...... <_< Andy.

Here's one of 'a view from a Galaxy' crossing Jeremy Clarkson's favourite bridge several hundred feet above Millau in the south of France. :o <_< :P :o Andy.

Door Lights Retro Fit?
AndeeeH replied to briggd01's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
IIRC if you run your hand along the horizontal flat plastic strip which is below the lower glove box the blanking plate will be felt, proud of this strip. It is 3-4 cms wide and maybe 7-8cms long. It can either be gently prized out of its hole or I think you can reach up behind it with a couple of fingers and push it out from the back. On mine, as stated earlier, the plug for the light was secured in a clip on the back of the blanking plate. The mark1's had an oval plate and light but the mk2's are rectangular. Andy. -

Vw Sharan Pulling To Left
AndeeeH replied to Dirtbag's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Just a suggestion for your seat dilemma, wouldn't one/two of the child cum adult seats fit the bill. You can use the fold out child harness option in any seat position regardless of the seat belt fittings then alter the positions as your kids grow. They are megabucks from a dealer but crop up fairly regularily on ebay and go for about -
Front Seats And Under Floor Compartments .
AndeeeH replied to toneinblack's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
On the subject of hidden storage compartments I hope that all you Mk 2 owners have found the ones in the front doors below the speakers that don't seem to be mentioned in the earlier owners manuals......... Andy. -
So did my missus..

Type maf into the search facility and prepare for a long read... Andy. -
Before you give up on the idea completely, it can be done. I did my six seater so I could take seven of us away for the weekend. The captain chairs will definately not fit 3 across, I borrowed some normal ones for the trip. As for the mounting points: the bolt holes are already in the floor pan but you will need the brackets that the seats mount on to about

If you ease the blank out of its hole the plug should be attached to the back of it. Andy. -
