  1. Hmmmm....if it has an egr valve thingy...that might need a clean.........mixture might be running lean..... as for the water....no idea...mind....im prob talking out my rear over the egr aswell.... Only going on when my veccy was misfireing.
  2. Unfortunately the person who towed her was only doing as he is told to.When i was yakking to the driver who towed me for 4 hours back to the garage, he was telling me that depending what cover you have..they either have 30 mins or 1 hour to try and see if they can repair the vehicle to get it going again. Also that when he went to give roadside assistance to one guy..he didnt have relay but was given an option for relay to where ever he wanted to go..he was on his way to leeds and wanted to go there...cost him over 700 quid though!
  3. the tiny number two means that the display is on its second display setting..(if them the right words..)..try pushing a button to see if it changes to number 1.
  4. Ive never been with the AA.......heard too many horror stories, my breakdown is through my insurance...no idea what is included with it..know it costs me 75 quid a year..and i must admit i was pretty impressed with the quickness of the recovery truck when i broke down and i got towed back to the garage i specified where i wanted the car dumping.

  18. Where do you get your info from JohnswLondon??personal experience ?or another website??..Just curious.
  19. Found it. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...999#description
  20. Arent they under the car?????...lose the spare wheel then from underneath..
  21. Hiya Keefy....welcome to the forum....in fact..madhouse..nope.....we are all calm chilled and serene..nah..thats nuts aswell...yep...welcome to the nut house  If you post your prob in trainee then i can move it to technical section.B)
  22. A bit sexist! There are a few "beefy" females out there (not sure how many drive Galaxys though  ) and quite a few "feeble" men. But seriously, I'm sure we'd all have difficulty without power assistance, especially if it was a sudden, unexpected loss. Believe me..its bloody hard..in fact nigh on impossible unless you are hanging off the steering wheel on one side and yanking it.And i aint exactly no lightweight.
  23. HAPPY BIRTHDAY B) Many happy returns of the day.....best blow them candles out quick before the fire alarms go off
  24. Im sorry but after experiencing steering loss and not being able to steer the the galaxy..i agree with seatkid...the tree i hit wasnt a soft bendy rubber one..it was tall hard and felt like it was made of stone! I dont know where you get your info from John...but i totally disagree with removeing the splash guard under a car..it is there for a reason..Specially needed on diesels. If the car didnt need one..why would the manufacturers put one on?? I have heard of putting holes where you suggested....but to be honest....im starting to wonder where you are getting your info from. we have to be careful on this forum..as a newbie may join..see what you recommend..do all you say..what then if an accident happens??..most of us say we are not qualified mechanics...even though we do have mechanics coming on here asking for help!! if you are going to post like you have above..please say that if anyone does all this...it is at their own risk...what would happen if a newbie joined..took his undertray off..misjudged a puddle of water on the road..lost his steering...who is he going to blame???? I may be overthinking here...but all that is put on these forums is our own experiences..dashboard removals...stripping an engine etc... its all well and good posting what you have and yes it may help someone...but you need evidence to back up your facts. or am i talking out my ass again????
