Mine would only work from 30mph up...so why is it the bleenos and others can work from 20mph up???..i still cant understand why they would lower the speed for CC.??????

all depending if there is a short in the alternator..WE dont know yet if there is a problem with the alt. It may be that all that is needed is a new box and cable..oh and battery...def replace the cable...dingo has had this happen to him as have i. if when all connected up every thing looks fine..you should keep checking it to see if it is overheating again....the drop of water trick is good.

If you end up fixing it yourself, that is tantamount to giving up and letting them win.Stand your ground.Whether the clutch cable was on its last legs or not is neither here nor there...it wasnt snapped when it first went into the garage....now an assessment is saying it is...so how did it get broken????..that would be what i would want to know..also..if it was snapped..why didnt the garage say so when they took it back???? To me it sounds like the garage is trying everything in its little black book to pass on the blame and not get stung for selling a car that they should have ensured was fit for purpose.

If the cable was snapped..surely it would have been picked up before hand???????..something definately going on here.

When that fuse goes...basically all the car is driving on is whatever is left in the battery, so yes the battery would have been dead , so all the electrics would have gone doolally and died when the battery did.

Blimey....just been reading through this thread..quite a few of the members who posted on it arent about..shame. :wacko:.. Lots gone on since i passed my test..no points as of yet :lol:..and driving for nearly a year and a half...who would have thought that all that time ago id lose the Gal...or the changes that have happened.lol.Feels like ive been driving a lot longer than i have. Oh and the monstrous threads every time i worked on the Gal.LMAO.

You also have to make sure the connections are clean......the first time it went on me was scarey..the second time beetling along only a few months later. The first time the cable was never replaced..the second time it was..and it never went again. Im most def not from Venus...im not a venetian!!..im a Plutonian!!..well i must be..the amount of times ive been told im not from this planet :wacko:

so if you removed that fuse...none of the airbags would work???drivers????side airbags???. That too me is far too risky...i wouldnt do it...i would keep all the kids in the back.

And this is only if all power is lost in the car???...could it be done if say.....the front drivers door doesnt open for some reason?..or remote and drivers door lock goes belly up?? better off checking the battery not the handbook to see what battery he has as not everyone fits a calcium battery!
