got it wrong....other half said the guy quoted him just under a grand to change the belt. :) B) :huh: B) .if i had a manual...id do it myself(hubby just sits and goes......i fix!!)

oops!!we a bit past that now!!!i know the guy said that it was about 500 to change the timing belt

Many thanks 4 your replies.so i def have a timing belt then??was looking at other threads earlier and i was still none the wiser ! B) the guy at the garage said timimg chain and fraud were adamant we had a cam belt that was seriously overdue a change!.does a timing belt have to be changed at a set milage? thanks again.

Fraud have said that we need to have our cam belt changed at a cost of 365 squid B) yet an independant dealer said that we dont have a cam belt but a timing chain!!!who is right??? :huh: .Even the manual says cam belt.i have a ford galaxy 1.9 tdi ghia x reg 51k miles on the clock. many thanks in advance 4 your help.
