  1. Very impressive....10 out of 10 I will have to remember to do take some photos on my next job as well and post them.
  2. go and switch yours on then edit your reply to suit  This is correct, I can use my front fog lights seperatly from my headlights.
  3. Yes the rear heater has its own one. Basically the resistor pack( manual aircon) and hedghog (automatic aircon) fitted next to the fans (front and back) and depending on the fan speed setting reduces the voltage to the individual fan. It has a tendency to get very hot and burnt out which means no voltage to the particular fan. Whip your glove box out and have a look....the unit might be hot. If you have automatic aircon ( electronic unit in the front) then the hedgehogs in the front and rear are the same and you could always swap them over to double check !
  4. Nope, they are for use in fog (or snow or dusty air) when the operation of the normal headlamps is innefective ( not lighting the road and/or causing reflective glare to the driver). They must be switchable seperatly from the main headlights (dipped beam)..so you can use one or the other not both at the same time.
  5. Nah ! However it sounds like it may be the resistor pack or hedghog unit ( not its real name ). Situated behind the glove box...easily removed without tools. Probably burnt out.....may be repairable.
  6. I believe that it is something to do with programming the memory on each window ( involves pressing and holding the window button.......don't have exact details ). It does mention this is the manual and refers you to another part of the manual......which fails to tell you how to do it. It is exactly the same in the mondeo manual......sounds like it has been missed out when the manuals were set up.
  7. It does sound like a leak....they don't always show when testing. If it was topped up in March and then required topping up again last week this does sound like a leak. Do you have manual aircon or automatic ?
  8. Try speaking to the mondeo guys....click HERE I believe one of them has done this retrofit.
  9. Never noticed that it was down at all......well done Glen. I think you should give yourself a big pat on the back.... <_<
  10. Register with Vagcat.com and go into the catalog. Remember that you actually have a VW Sharan 2001 Go onto Engine/Clutch and then onto water cooling ( for your engine ) You should find the part from the diagram. This should easily be obtainable from a VW dealer.
  11. Dodgy brake or clutch switch....possibly sticking. Temporary fuel problem.....tesco's diesel. Dodgy driver.....possibly getting old.
  12. Bloody hell not another one :) Hi Catherine, welcome to the forum. I am sure you will find lots of information and help to maintain your Sharan.
  13. Hi Sven, Do a search for the Ford Galaxie club. I think there are several ( definitly one in the USA and one in Australia ). Best Regards Kevin
  14. Not quick enough mate .....plus my link works... ^_^
  15. I have the basic VAGCOM and lead so although it will interpret a few codes it won't do them all. Can you provide a link to where the codes can be downloaded from? Cheers, JRWR Google the code.....usually works or if you cant be arzed .....Click This
  16. Sounds like Fog Lamps to me ? I think you need to check !
  17. It is most likely that the core will have broken as well they usually go before the insulation. If your high level brake light works then it is not a fuse, relay or switch problem. Double check the wiring in the tail gate loom.....you should be able to completely disconnect the loom at a multi-connector and gain access to all the wiring inside the right hand rear storage compartment. I think the wires for the brake lights are black/red and black/white ( may vary on models ). p.s. if you are colour blind you will need assistance.
  18. Its under the ashtray, remove both the ashtray and its holder.....both just lift out.
  19. No it won't fit as a direct swap.
  20. bumped
  21. Most likely this is a mechanical jam....something has got into the mechanism ( pens or similar are favourite ). There should be enough room to check underneath with a mirror or possible by direct vision. Compare the operation with the drivers side just in case it is actually broken.
  22. First thought is why is he changing the plugs instead of watching the footie ! The link below may help you LINK Just noticed you are a newbie and may not be able to see the picture until you have several more posting.
  23. Yep the whole car is a VW You might have a ford gearbox ( manual ) and radio.
