  1. There are 2 switches on the brake pedal....one is for the lights the other is the one likely to be faulty or require adjustment.
  2. Not looking good !.. Mind you we moved up a place.. :P
  3. Its not just because you are higher up is it ?
  4. Already have.....it was rubbish....seen better :P
  5. Geoff...you still on the south island ?
  6. You will be able to view the pictures once you have several more posts....seee Trainee Member Help section....guidelines.. These units are usually available at scrapyards or ebay....have a look. The units are still available from ford/seat/VW but you don't want to know there prices..
  7. Not looking good for the Toon !.... ;) At least no-one is taking the p anymore
  8. Very, very nice motor ;) Check the autobox is working smoothly....may not be cost effective to repair. However much better than the manual to drive......especially around town. Check all the electrics and aircon....as with all Galaxy's lots of niggling faults are common. Check that the 4-wheel drive operates ok ( sometimes the propshafts get removed...honest ! ). The V6 is the best of the petrol engines, is a bit heavy on the juice but this would only bother you if doing high mileages.....could always convert it to gas. And for christ's sake retune the bloody radio to a different station.....
  9. Are you 100% sure the correct sensor was fitted......sounds like ECU detecting an error in the sensor....possibly invalid readings from incorrect sensor......maybe !
  10. read the link below .http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?showtopic=14326
  11. If its not the immobiliser then it is probably the ignition relay. Check to see if there is a voltage at the cut-off relay top front of engine....pretty obvious follow the fuel pipe.......if no voltage provide temporary 12v direct feed...this will start you. Be aware however that if you leave the feed on it will drain the battery overnight.
  12. Wires are broken where they pass through the gaiter into the tailgate upper right hand side. Most likely there will be several broken ones ....copper broken inside not always visible as the outer plastic may still be ok.....wiggle them and watch what happens.
  13. Eh...excuse me....I have a caravan ! Oh..no...hold on .....point taken ... :angry2:
  14. Where do I find the plate with this information on my Mk2 Galaxy? 1240Kg seems low to me. While my handbook doesn't give an unladen weight it does give a kerb weight It seems low because CD is the maximum front axle load. Can't remember why it gives 2 values for rear axle......may come back to me though
  15. No he hasn't ......already been down this line on seperate topic.
  16. After looking at the PDF attached to this thread I found that by removing the 25 amp fuse at position 12 I can stop the aux heater and retain the heating and cooling inside the car. Can anyone confirm that car is now safe to use like this ?. Thanks in advance. Yep it will be fine during the warmer weather, it will be switched off most of the time now anyway.
  17. Its not there to prevent accidents....its there to generate revenue. Speed cameras increase the likelihood of an accident....causes distraction to drivers. Latest stats show accidents caused by speeding (actually where speeding may or may not have been a factor ) up from 5% to 6%. If they were going to use them to prevent accidents then they would all be in 30 zones not motorways and dual carraigeways.
  18. You got a digital speedo ?
  19. Belated greetings Nik......apologies I've been away. Nice to know when we now call you a silly old sod it won't be seen as abuse. All the best Kev
  20. Don't know if I am am 100% on this but I believe that under the new MOT's this year that number plates will be checked for legallity. ie you will no longer be allowed dodgy fonts, incorrect spacing, dodgy anti-speed camera backgrounds, football team logo's etc. Also the number plates supplier must have their details on the plate ( post 2001 vehicles only). I got mine for a tenner at a car boot  Anyone going to fail on this ?
  21. Sadly, much as I would love this to be his Birthday, I suspect he may be telling porkies. However just in case I am wrong.... Happy Birthday you senile old burger
  22. Nope the full software doesn't allow you to talk to more controllers. However it does have more features and allows more in depth changes. See vagcom site for exact details of this.
  23. He knows you then SK... I like Sepulchrave's replies.....doesn't beat about the bush....straight in with the insults. Got a point though about the journalistic claptrap.
  24. Even more info. including report Nice to see my Wanli's outperformed the Conti's in aquaplaning and were half decent in the wet although they are carp in the dry. Any peeps out there with winwong's or triangle's .....keep your distance guys..
  25. You could definitely get the part from http://www.partstrain.com/ although they are US based they do deliver to the UK. http://www.247spares.co.uk claim to be able to get head gaskets, you could give them a ring. Fleabay is always popular and may surprise you. Apologies for the delay in replying...too busy laughing...
