You could always convert it to run on LPG........this could save you a few bob.....in the long term

It is not just the Handbrake Light it also indicates failure of one or both of your brake circuits. Advise to have your brakes checked immediately before driving the car again.

Neil, Do you have a pic of the rear nearside mounting bracket, where the cover hooks onto when fully extended. It is easier to tell from there.
