Totally agree with what you say Hopefully the message will get accross and anyone considering an LPG conversion will make sure it is done properly. Converting to LPG is purely a money saving exercise ( dont get me started about global warming ) and as such it is likely that people will try to save additional money by having it done cheaply and hence possibly not safely.

I think you will find these were not porn but studies of the human art form...

Vag-Com is very twitchy with USB adapters...I would check with the seller and see if he has a serial version The sellers feedback has several people with the same problem

I seeing this somewhere before.....I think there may have been a conversion that allowed a 3 point belt to be fitted to the seat......obviously the roof mounting point is missing or so I am led to believe in the MK1's.....I will have a look for you

Antifreeze for beginners.......... MIx half antifreeze ( any cheap kind they all reduce freezing and have corrosion inhibitor ) and half water from tap into suitable container. Pour mixture into correct hole under bonnet until it reaches the Full or Max mark. Thats it ........all will now be ok. Honestly has anyone ever had a problem with the "wrong" kind of antifreeze. Why make things so complicated.....its a lumpy old engine it really wont matter

I liked moriticiaskeeper's reply.........anyone think I hit a nerve ? What he could have also said (if he had actually seen the video before...which seems unlikely ) was that..... The petrol fuelled car went bang after 3 and a half minutes.....one assumes the occupants would have had plenty of time to escape. The dodgy LPG car went bang after 14 minutes....I think the occupants would have legged it by then...also if they had a full tank of petrol it would have went bang long before the LPG tank. The video was commisioned on behalf of the fire brigade who said that LPG cars were a danger to them or whoever else was trying to put the fire out. There was no additional danger to the occupants from a stationary fire in a vehicle using LPG.....different story if someone rams your LPG tank...however...will get back to that later. The car was fitted with the correct multivalve and shutdown solenoids it was just that they were fitted badly. The point they were making was that everyone knows that it is illegal and indeed punishible by a custodial sentence for a non-Corgi registered person to tamper with your domestic gas supply...or appliances...but any half trained monkey can legally fit an LPG conversion.

MK1 owners have the real galaxy.........MK2's just have the surrogate (inferior copy......for the benefit of MK2 owners )version.

Anyone got LPG ?

My money would be on a dodgy brake switch. This can cause issues with the ECU causing loss of power and also I am sure I read somewhere that the Gal wont go into reverse or at least wont engage properly ) unless it is stationary. A faulty brake switch may cause it to think it is moving. Alternatively try holding the gearstick into various positions around the R position and see if reverse engages...could be a cable/linkage problem.

Bit worried about the baud rate being set to Zero !

Not as good as this site.. http://www.sat-gps-locate.com It allows you to track the position of any mobile phone.....assuming phone is switched on. Uses something similar to Google Earth and local transmitter postions to accurately locate a persons mobile. Type in your Girlfriends/Wife's/Boyfriends/Husbands or whatever!'s mobile number and you can see where they actually are ! Quite accurate...( usually )

I would definitely advise going for the highest spec possible if buying second hand, the price difference is negligible. Definitly advise not to buy the 2.0L. For economy rather than a diesel you could always look for a "suicide bomber" ...sorry, that should be LPG conversion.

It doesn't offer any decent benifets yet to justify the cost and lack of hardware/software support. Will wait until I have to upgrade or replace my existing pc.
