Front Wipers Running Too Fast

sounds like either a faulty relay or faulty selecter switch -
Dont know much about the diesel gal but there is a little pipe connected to the air filter box that you may have accidently disconnected while fitting the new MAFF

Nik and 3.5 thanks for all your help, i will get a new sensor order from ford,,,,,,,,,, :D Nik sorry, i was not implying your post meant the maf was suspect, i was only saying i knew the maf was ok and i was only explaining that i had a rough idea what the air temp sensor did, Cheers :P  :D
-
I know its not the MAF, disconnecting it, makes the engine idle the same, but drivability of the gal, is horrible, hesitates from pulling away and a serious lack of power, I am guessing that the air temp sensor takes a temp reading passes it to the ecu which adjusts fueling depending on the temp, if the air temp fails to send or takes the wrong reading then the engine will be over/under fuelled at idle and probably the whole rev range?,,,,,,,I know its a rough explaination!!!!!!! The air temp has been disconnected for 2 days and the erractic idle has not returned, so I am going to assume its the air temp sensor,,,,,maybe leave it a week and see how i get on :D

Cheers Nik.

Would a faulty air temp sensor causes the engine to idle erratic, I have disconnected it and the engine idles better, cheers for any help

Nik read your handbook it says, dont press the remote while out of range of your car, you will loose the remote facility,,,,,,you need to press the unlock button 3 times quickly (within range of your car), and it should fix itself, if not you need to reprogram the remote key/s

Brake Light And Central Locking Failure
bigdaddy replied to a topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
There is also a known problem with the wires snapping where they pass between the tail gate and the body of your gal, especially if the high brake light still works, The central locking maybe a duff battery in your key and it needs reprogramming,,,,look in the faq section for the sequence :46: Is this Ford mechanics at work,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, -
