  1. Hi there and welcome to the site Your engine is not used on the Galaxy but I had that same problem albeit intermittent a few years ago on a Ford Cougar, that turned out to be the throttle position sensor, this is located on the throttle housing butterfly that also didn't show up a fault code. Hope that's of some help as this may or may not be fitted to your car.
  2. Hi Greg check out the leather covers on ebay there's some nice pink ones on there may suit
  3. Hi there I would be really surprised if the glow plugs were causing your starting problems, but check them anyway. If you lift off the plastic cover over the engine you will see the four plugs located in the cylinder head facing you, the power supply leads just pull off, you will need a deep socket to fit the plugs, if they are very tight warm engine up for ten minutes. May be an idea to see if any fault codes stored this may also help with booster heater as it may be locked out for whatever reason ie, overheated, flame failure
  4. Hi there and welcome to the site Fluid level plays a vital part in correct gear engagement, you can do a search for checking level as it is not a simple task. Vag-Com check could help there may be some fault codes stored, stop light switches also known to cause problems
  5. Just for you Baz "Powertrain Control Module" that's the PCM
  6. Hi there You didn't say if you have physically checked the wiring on the drivers door trunking, I'm sure Mirez would agree this is the first place to look as it is a common problem area for broken and/or bare wires.
  7. Hi there Check all vacuum hoses for splits/perishing this can cause high idle speed.
  8. Hi there If you havn't changed the alternator clutch pulley recently then that is a likely suspect, auxiliary belt tensioner can also give problems here if the spring has lost tension.
  9. Hi there Have a check to the condition of the wiring of the tailgate trunking you may have some bare/broken wires then re-check fuses
  10. Hi there You need to check the wiring on drivers door trunking for breakages and bare wires, this is a common problem also the rear tail gate door trunking can have the same problem. The constant opening and shutting of the doors breaks/weakens the wiring through the rubber trunking. If you go to the FAQ's in the technical section you will find detailed instructions on removing door cards and wiring repairs.
  11. Hi there providing it's had all it's filters and oil changed regularly and it's running OK with no loss of power don't worry about it thats normal.
  12. Yes you should have power to it all the time ignition is on, if you listen carefully you should hear it click as key is turned on, this could possibly be interrupted by the immobilizer.
  13. hi and welcome to the site I think it's a case of turn the radio up a bit  mines the same, also depends on what sort of rain it is, ie heavy or light.
  14. Hi there welcome to the site Looking at the two pieces could they possibly fit together protecting a terminal or valve, incidently is this a four or five speed (AG4 or AG5) transmission.
  15. Hi there It's on the fuel injection see photo if I can upload it.
  16. Hi and welcome to the site I take it your talking about the clear plastic cover you cant get off? they can be a bugger to remove owing to restricted space, you may have to be brutal with it, have left mine off for years. You may also want to check the wiper linkage in particular the 2 spindles that the wiper arms are attached to as they seize up. Correct method would be to dismantle the linkage and clean up and re-grease spindle/housings, other members have drilled into the housings in situ and pumped penetrating oil and grease in that way, look in the FAQ section for more info.
  17. Hi there and welcome to the site. When you say you checked for broken wires im assuming your talking about drivers door trunking, you really need to be quite thorough here as there may be wires broken with insulation still intact you need to feel each wire separately, breakages here are a common problem
  18. Guday, As for the radio if you go to My link for a small fee they should supply you with your code, you will need to remove the radio first to get the seven digit serial number.
  19. Hi there You could ask "Mirez" he's very good on this stuff.
  20. Hi there Check brake servo vacuum pipe has not perished/split and collapsed this would also cause engine to run rough if its drawing air.
  21. Hi there The rubber grommet is in the bulkhead behind the ABS valve block, enters the car by the heater motor. If you have the Ebersp
