Cruise Control Not Working

I'll have a look tonight for those switches and see if they are loose. -
Cruise Control Not Working
Jayton replied to Jayton's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Vag Com shows nawt wrong with CC (I've scanned all modules listed under the Sharan). I swapped over the whole pedal unit, from the plug onwards, so that should include the throttle switch. I've looked for pics of the brake and clutch pedal switches, are these built into the pedal like the throttle switch is. I may swap the old pedal back in and take it over the bypass and see if I can use CC or not. -
Mine could do with a clean @ 140k ... I'll be sure to take pic of the gunk I get out of it.

Since getting the car the cruise control has not worked, I don't know if it has anything to do changing the accelerator pedal (within the first WEEK of owning it!) to a newer revision pedal ? Would it need to be reprogrammed to the new pedal ? Is the cruise control built into the ECU or is it a separate module? How do I go about diagnosing the problem on a fly-by-wire system?

Of course it's going to not perform well in 4th @ 30mph! My 115 feels like it's just at the lowest speed it will do in 4th @ 30mph, any less and I get the shuddering. As for RPM 1100-1300 is about what it does, I'll check that tomorrow though.

Jayton replied to SolarB's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
not 100% accurate but pop your reg number in ECP, but pretty darn accurate! http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/Car-Parts ;) Mine: Model GALAXY GHIA ... Engine Size 1896 cc Engine Model AUY Manufactured 2000 Registered 01-09-2000 Transmission MANUAL Colour BLUE -
I can easily maintain 30mph in 4th on the long straight roads of Oxford in my TDI, getting 45-50mpg the VR6 owners wish they could get :P ;) and yes it is slow to accelerate in 4th @ 30mph, it's natural!

It wasn't me gov, honest ! I'd go with changing the bulb as you have a spare and see how it goes from there. How much damage did the Golf cause? Bloody VW drivers eh? ;)

I hate it when things don't come when you're expecting them, if you do have any probs with VAG COM and none of the other VAG COM topics help, just post up your problems.
-
Get VAG COM ;) There are loads of help topics on this forum and 1000's more on other forums.

That's a point, try your friend fob on your car and when you're done recode his fob to his car again.

I wouldn't even remap one of these cars properly at a cost of

Just How Many 115tdi Turbo's Trip Out
Jayton replied to Seatdriver's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Only had it twice, it's not done it for a few months. I hoping my driving style has cleared it out! -
Does the normal central locking work? IE. when you press the button with a key on it that's located on your drivers door card with all the electric window switches, does it lock the doors so they can't be opened from the outside - but can still be opened from the inside.

Purchased Incorrect Tyre Size!
Jayton replied to Jayton's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Sorted. My brother in law's Zafira uses 205 55 16's and he needs 2 rear tyres so I'm selling him the tyre and we'll get it swapped over next weekend onto 1 of his tyres. -
Help Needed Urgently With Front Brake Caliper
Jayton replied to ag-1982's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Best of luck ! -
Right as the title says, I accidentally bought a 205/55/16's instead of 215/55/16's. I didn't realise until the tyre fitter said when I went to collect it this arvo. As it's kind of my spare (I'm using the spare at the mo and was going to pop this on and keep the spare as the spare) so would you lot: a) keep it in case of a flat and only use if needed to get somewhere to get a flat replaced. 2) try and get an exchange from Camskill Z) Open to suggestions? tia Jay

it should work with the engine on, I always plug it into the laptop, then interface under the fusebox, start the car then start the software on the laptop and run the scans. If you've got the full versions you can even get power graphs and all sorts or so I'm led to believe.

Get the Serial download from their website, NOT the USB one. The USB will not work with your lead, even though it is a USB lead. This is because there is a usb<->serial converter built into the lead. The file you want is: http://www.ross-tech.net/vag-com/download/...elease4091s.exe :) Remember you need the cable plugged into the car with the ignition in the ON position when testing the lead under VAG COM otherwise it won't pick it up.

ermmm the EGR is there to reduce emissions by burning unburnt fuel, but diesels are not subject to MOT emissions tests like petrol cars are. Does everyone forget that diesels are not subject to emissions testing on MOTs? The MOT tester should only inspect the exhaust exit pipe for smoking, not hooking up an emissions tester :) You might also want to add an oil catch can which removes oil from the air circulation system. http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/t/145424.aspx http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/t/269734.aspx :D

The EGR helps with emissions and fuel efficiency. It recirculates exhaust gasses through the combustion process to reuse the unburnt fuel. The EGR should be in a similar position to the Golf's EGR: http://www.cincitdi.com/system/files/u1/enginebay.jpg

Changing Rear Discs And Pads Tomorrow
Jayton replied to Jayton's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
You've convinced me to do the job properly now :D I'll 'book' myself for the Saturday and take my time. I might even flush the front fluid, even if I'm not changing the discs/pads yet, might as well get clean fluid all round while I'm at it :)
