  1. I'll probably be taking mine to the local garage as I've used them before for work on other cars and they kinda know these diesel engines as they are in the 'VW Scene' as it were. I can't imagine it being any more than the
  2. Oh it's on another forum, must be the same spammers as the post makes no sense but either has links to said nekkidness or is a NSFW post :) Not that my boss would care, he'd ask for the pics if he saw them :D
  3. I was told not to worry and replace if it does blow as it will take the clutch with it... I guess if it ain't broke don't fix it and all that... So now to do all the other jobs on the car that need sorting ... :D
  4. Yeah we've been getting a few spammers on another forum I'm on. Though they're usually deleted within 10mins as there is always a mod on scene lol What about enforcing a minimum of 10 posts before a member can PM others? That stopped PM spam from these idjiots, now there is just post spam (usually nekkid woman so we don't complain too much :D )
  5. I'm not sure when the clutch was done but to me it feels a bit odd when releasing pressure off it, and I also get the judder at low RPM/speed in a high gear (apparently it means the fly wheel is on it's way out, or so I read on another forum please correct me if I'm wrong). I searched for flywheels away from ebay, they were coming in @
  6. Don't click links from people you don't know. Simples :D
  7. Good to hear you got yourself sorted now :o I know it's a pain having a smashed up motor :D
  8. You'll miss your Gal! Why not px for a new Gal?
  9. That's what I was worried about :D Not sure if there are mice/rats in the outlaws Garage... I'll see if I can put it up high.
  10. Yup, there are a few cables and a yellow connector - but no fuses.
  11. Not according to the Ford manual... I have the fusebox with 1-27(?) vertically and the rest below horizontally, with the 50+ range up top in mini blade format. I'll get a GP ordered in and hopefully that'll cure it!
  12. Yeah, I scanned the engine and ABS and various other modules, cleared the DTC's and they haven't some back. I've just not been able to get into the aux heater module  The fuse is a 7.5A (don't have heated seats so didn't put a 10A in) and the local motor factors didn't have a 5A in normal size only mini blade. Also, my cigar lighter and aux power sockets don't work, they have VE- but not VE+, could there be link? My aircon needs regassing I think because it flashes for a 10 seconds or so on start up, could it also indicate a problem with the aux heater?
  13. at least it's not just me  When you put your foot down expecting the boost to kick in and it doesn't, and there is no acceleration it's almost heart breaking. I read a few times about loss of power and it being vac hoses and such, I was almost certain that's what it was until I used the search function and found this. I bought Redex to put in and shall take it for a blast later.
  14. Tried that and my normal method, still not detecting the module
  15. What order did you connect the car to the laptop? plug lead into laptop , start vag-com, start car, plug lead in car? plug lead into laptop , plug lead in car, start vag-com, start car? (the method I've used) I can't detect the aux heater and thus clear the code, I'm going to try what GSMGuy suggested here next http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.ph...x+heater+module
  16. That can't be doing their body & internals any good...
  17. Hope this helps http://www.uniteddiesel.co.uk/diesel-engine-smoke.php
  18. doing 30-45 in 5th? Does it judder?
  19. Cheers for the offer !!! Had it done today and all it showed were 2 ignition coils need doing !! Well chuffed... although, could it show something else when they're replaced.. ??? Did you have problems starting the car and with it running? Did they clear the codes? It's advised that you get the codes cleared first then drive it around for a few days and recheck the codes as the fault could have been logged, items replaced and codes never cleared.
  20. Thanks all, I'll get some dust sheets to cover it.
  21. Run it as Administrator and change it to run in compatibility mode. If that doesn't work, delete VAG-COM (afaik it doesn't register itself so just delete it) and reinstall, also change the port to COM3, on my Googling for my problem I found people use COM3 in the end and it works.
  22. Ah I had the job of putting them back in this weekend... Take the head rests off. Collapse the seat's backrest forwards so it's folded. squeeze the two bars together that are near the front of the seat on the underside tilt the seat up on it's front so the catches are over the holes in the floor, whack the seat so they go in. Release the two bars from under the chair and pull the seat down to the normal position and make sure the rear catches lock in. That's just from memory and may not be the best way/missing something. hth. Jay
  23. My air luke warm coming out the rear blowers on the floor, I'm going to order that GP and replace it.
  24. If you need a VAG-COM scan I'm Wallingford if that's close to you? :)
