Jayton replied to shazam's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Easy way to tell, VAG COM your ABS and the light should flash during and a few seconds after the scan. -

Oh I'm getting it replaced at the end of month - just trying to find the best price now :P

The socket is located just under the fusebox panel, big purple connector nothing covering it (not on mine anyway!) I got my problems resolved by using an XP laptop instead of a Vista one & updating the drivers using the site Big_Kev (I think it was him) pointed me in the direction of. Then also connected it to the car, other directions (from another site) that I was following said the cable would be picked up while not attached to the car - you must have it plugged in then turn the key over to ON or start the car up.

It's a MK2 so should it not just be a standard KKL lead? Or did they change the Shalaxy's over to CAN before the 3rd revision of the Sharan/Alhambra and the MK2 Galaxy was put out to pasture? (which has never been cleared up I think). This is like the one I bought, good quality feel and look. I only I paid

Bit of a hijack - Sorry :P I just had my local MK1 Golf specialists (they also do other VW's of mine which is why I asked them) and they reckon up to 3.5hours labour @

17965 - Charge Pressure Control: Positive Deviation P1557 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent Came back right after clearing it :46: I can't remember if I cleared the other two and rechecked them... -
Nothing major though :D I thought I'd give it a go again after doing Anma's on Friday night ( also got me out of the Outlaws for 30mins :46: ) to see what it thought of my intermittent loss of power when suddenly flooring it. Hey :) No probs, just glad to be able to help. I'm glad we managed to clear the ESP light, or has it come back like the engine management light did? I've uploaded both text files with the error codes(DTC's) , the large one is the original list and the smaller one is the same error that kept coming back. Even worse just after you've bought a new car and some twonky idjiot smacks you up the rear in their Merc and then complains about his cracked number plate & parking sensors going off when you have a large dent in your rear. Sorry rant over.

You're not sad, you just know the facts ;)
-
heh, we're out of it now ;) well kinda...

;) Here's a bit more after the big rip

Also check the extra's on the policies are the same, and the legal cover is up to the same amount, windscreen cover etc etc

[Quick hijack] Just been out and when I came back, I tested my steering while parked up. I turned the steering wheel from left to right full lock to full lock and it only made the horrible noise when at full lock and applying more pressure - in both directions. Does this sound more like a PAS fluid flush and replacement job rather than replacing the alternator pulley & belt? I had the same with my Vauxhell Fronterror, but never had it working long enough to find the cause.

http://vidiload.com/index.php?page=videos&...p;vid_id=100516 Oops!

Won't that add extra wear & tear to the engine because it's taking longer to warm up? or is it negligible?

Turbo Exploded, Bits Missing !
Jayton replied to Mark & Cath's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
It'll be worth changing the oil & filter before firing it up after replacing the turbo in case there are fillings of metal in the oil. Cleaning the entire intake & exhaust system would probably also be a good idea, remove the cat if you can to stop any metal fillings getting in it. Hopefully the bores are still good and you don't have any problems afterwards  -
I work in North Oxford so could easily hop on the A40 car park after work ;) I'll PM you which evenings I can make it over to Witney when I get home from work  At the mo I'm thinking tomorrow evening or Friday evening.

Oops! Forgot you have the 2.8 V6 :16: I can still do the VAG-COM Scan if you like  PM me your town and I'll see how far you are and when I can come over or something :(
