I don't have a fuse 35. In my manual it says fuse 7 - 25Amp Cigar lighter. I checked the fuse again, still didn't work so replaced it with another and it still doesn't work.

ah ha! I replaced most of the ones stated in the manual. They were 7 & 8 iirc and as davewill said. I'm going out to replace my TPS and will give this a go, cheers bud! I'll let you know how I got on :)

Anyone Else Interested In This Switch?
Jayton replied to Mirez's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Tempting but I've bought so much for the Gal in the 1.5 weeks I've had it, the wife would kill me if I bought a switch I don't need. -
I've checked the fuses after replacing them and after trying to use my SatNav, they're not blown and don't work at all... :) I'm hoping my vagcom cable will come tomorrow and I will be able pin point the cause.

I've read that I can convert my 6 seater into a 7 seater, in doing so I'll need another seat. Now if I were to pickup a seat from a Shalaxham with ISOFix, would this fit straight into the car? Would there be other fabrication needed? Thanks in advance. Jay

year? TDI? V6? 2.0?

1.9TDI? Think you may need VagTacho and the correct VagTacho lead (correct me if I'm wrong).

My ciggie lighter and both my aux power supplies don't work either and haven't in the week or so I've had the car, I've checked the fuses and replace them in case there was a micro fracture and they still don't work. This was really annoying when I bought the car because I picked it up from East London and live near Oxford... so had had no SatNav and had to wait for my brother in law to finish work and lead me to the M4. any other ideas on how to get these working?

Revving Engine Help
Jayton replied to mrsmagoo1974's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
If the early Throttle position sensor (TPS) are like the later ones it's a unit that's attached to the accelerator peddle, 3 bolts to take it out (1 at the bottom and 2 up top, all are 8mm) and the electrical plug on top. I'm also having problems with my Throttle position sensor, it happens when I accelerate or attempted to, the rev counter goes to normal idle speed then slowly goes up to 1100rpm, sometimes I can get away with it by turning the car off and back on and it will work for a few hundred yards then happen again. If you take it off to have a look, remove the 5 screws and clean up the brushes and maybe bend them a little upwards (ever so slightly), reassemble and try it out again. I found 1 on ebay for -
Vagcom Anybody Please..

Try right clicking and choosing "Run as Administrator" under Vista, otherwise you can always try run it in XP Compatibility mode as summarised here http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vis...atibility-mode/ HTH :46: Jay -
This is a very cool mod, hats off to you fella :46: Where do you think the unit would have to sit on those cars without the sun glasses holder?

Are they really any better than standard bulbs? I used some 'xenon' bulbs in my Golf's and tbh I could see the road better with standard bulbs... maybe it was just low quality xenon bulbs I had?

Online Catalog of VW parts - Useful for cross referencing Sharan/Alhambra parts and Galaxy Parts :( http://www.vagcat.com I'm not sure how many of you knew it existed and haven't yet seen any references to it. It's free to sign up and use too! I've just been on there to look for the part # of the TPS (throttle position sensor), the Sharan and Alhambra part numbers differ by a letter on the end, the Sharan ending in a D and Alhambra ending in a B, now having been in the VW scene a few years I know this means it is a slightly different revision of the previous part, but do you think it would still work?

Battery Light Then Lack Of Power Steering
Jayton replied to blanco's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Check the alternator belt! It could be the belt has snapped and now drained the battery almost flat, but not enough to stop the dash lights to come on. It could also be the alternator/connection to the alternator thus stopping the battery from getting charged. -
No Power, No Acceleration But Not Stalling...
Jayton replied to Jayton's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
You don't by chance know the GSF part number do you? I just called GSF Reading and they said they don't have them after searching their system :D -

Ah yes, I keep forgetting because the parts are also used on VW's GSF would have them :D -
The ice warning will have a 'frost flake' in yellow on the dash next to the outside temp. http://www.thepunchbunch.com/images/product_catalog/solids/small/small_snowflake_frost_small.GIF

No Power, No Acceleration But Not Stalling...
Jayton replied to Jayton's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Argh! it happened again this evening 100 yards from my road :D Took it apart and bent the little metal brushes up a bit, rebuilt and fitted it and it drove 5 miles to my mums. I think I'm off to get another tomorrow. I assume I can get one from VW/Seat or Ford being the MK2 1.9TD? -
No Power, No Acceleration But Not Stalling...
Jayton replied to Jayton's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Took it out this morning, cleaned up the contacts for the plug, unscrewed the first cover and cleaned both the bushes and contacts inside. Rebuilt it and took it for a run down the road and back, it was OK so took it for a longer run and seems OK so far. I think I might get another one for when it does eventually fail, at least I'll have one ready to go in! Thanks for you help all ! B) -
Diag Kit Recommendations
Jayton replied to fedupwithjunk's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
If you are having a problem with Vista, install Virtual Box and install XP inside Virtual Box, it's really easy. It's meant to be able to pass on USB devices to the Virtual PC. HTH Jay -
Not bad B) The MK2 Golf's I've always had are apparently ~50% pass rate, not bad for 20 year old cars ;)

[iT hat on] Have you rebooted the PC? Try another USB port after reboot, you may have to change the port in the software if it loads. [/iT hat off] -
Hey all, Just got the bleeding thing less than a week ago and already having problems Driving into work today the first 15 miles were fine, stuck in a lot of traffic but that's nawt unusual. I tried over taking a cyclist but couldn't! I was in 2nd doing 10/15mph and floored it but nothing happened, then the glow plug light came on so I pulled over and turned the car off. Turned it over to key pos 2 and the GP light went out after a second and started her up, she drove for a few hundred yards and done the same again... at this point in holding up traffic on a busy road in the middle of Oxford So I tried again and it works again for a few hundred yards.... It happened again when at a point where I wouldn't block traffic so I decided to call my breakdown cover I have with my insurance, they couldn't find my details on their system (possibly because I'm a new customer) and couldn't confirm my address because their postcode system (GreenFlag) doesn't yet have my postcode... comon' it's been a year since the place was built! They said call insurance directly and have them confirm my address with them, so I call them and their systems are DOWN So after all that f@cking about I still couldn't get recovered, I tried again and she worked! I was only 2 miles down the road from my work so I drove there where she is now parked up. So when this happens... 1.) No Acceleration. 2.) GP light comes on after a few seconds of this and starts flashing. 3.) Rev counter is just above 1k when this happens. 4.) The car will pull itself along as if you have released the clutch and applying no acceleration. 5.) Plenty of fuel. Any ideas where to start looking? I don't have a fault code reader or cable for vag-com yet.
