Break Pads Warning Message On Dashboard
cyborg replied to micko67's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Good morning Micko, Welcome to the forum , Switching on/off the brake pad warning is possible as some lesser galaxys come without that option. to do so you would need to use a licensed version of vagcom $99 dollers and would need a lead to connect to ecu then you would select. 17-Instruments Recode for warning lamps: [select] [17 - Instruments] [Recode - 07] Write down the existing coding for future reference. Enter 5-digit code from below [Do It!] Look at the first two digits in the coding. Add the values for the options together to get the correct coding. 00 - No available equipment +01 - Brakepad wear sensor warning active However seems like a lot of hassle when brake pads are -

Depends on, how big a tale you can tell :) :) -
Hi danny, welcome to the forum, There's a couple of things to check. Air hose to brake servo isn't detached or pipe has hole check all rubber pipes for holes from manifold. Your timing out !....advance and retardation although electronic it adjusted by undoing the 13mm bolt holding the distributer so its loose enough to move but tight enough to remain in posistion when moved . 2 ways to adjust ,both ways you have phyiscally turn or advance . by sound .....or by using vag com software 4.09 (other versions don't give recommended settings in display) .when doing by software select engine then block 7 iirc and then select parimiters .

Wheel Speed Sensor Fault
cyborg replied to keithday37's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
hi kiethday37 and welcome to the forum, A couple of things to clear up ,If an abs Light is on the system automaticalley disables abs function so your car reverts back to old fashioned standard brakes making the car safe to get you home . To clear the lamp after fix drive over 40 mph or use vagcom to clear ABS fault. What usually happens when it goes wrong ; (for the benefit of people trying to solve ABS problems) The most comen failure is that the sensor has metal plates encased on plastic these rust expand and cause sensor to fail .The other problem is rust on cv joint where ABS ring breaks as rust expands. I think -
It takes 30 - 45 mins to weld either side ns and osf then seal it .To Keep the costs down wire brush it to prep :) should be

iirc you use two spanners, one to stop ball rotating 17mm and 17 /18 to undo nut .some drop links use a 7mm allen key to stop ball rotating .I don't think it matters on drop link brand as long as wishbone rubbers are up to scratch and tracking isn't out ... -
