  1. Hi Bus Boy If you haven't got fed up waiting the part no is YM2H 19997 AD - Regards BJ
  2. Such fun you boys have! I don't know how you can stand the pressure!!!
  3. A husband and wife came for counseling after 15 years of marriage. When asked what the problem was, the wife went into a passionate, painful tirade listing every problem they had ever had in the 15 years they had been married. She went on and on and on: neglect, lack of intimacy, emptiness, loneliness, feeling unloved and unlovable, an entire laundry list of un-met needs she had endured over the course of their marriage. Finally, after allowing this to go on for a sufficient length of time, the therapist got up, walked around the desk and, after asking the wife to stand, he embraced and kissed her passionately The woman shut up and quietly sat down as though in a daze. The therapist turned to the husband and said, "This is what your wife needs at least three times a week. Can you do this?" The husband thought for a moment and replied, "Well, I can drop her off here on Mondays and Wednesdays, but on Fridays, I golf."
  4. Hi Bus Boy Yes I had to sperate th epipe at the join you can just see on the photo and Yes it's probably correct that you need to remove the whole front panel. In the end I took out the headlamp and then cut away some of the fibre glass to access the joint. You do need a special tool - cheap but necessary - then in theory the pipe just pulls off - Of course mine didn't. I had it regassed etc today but after working initially it has failed again but I have yet to work out why. I won't get a chance to do it before Sunday but I will let you know the Ford part number and I wlll post a few pics of the hatchet job I have yet to repair to the fibre glass. It's quite probable in trying to seperate the pipes I have done some other damage - but as I say I can't tell as yet.
  5. Well after much swearing and cursing I managed to get the pipe off - It had corroded past the seals. I fitted the new one and am about to go back to Kwik Fit to pick it up - So fingers crossed. Whilst I am 100% sure I replaced a faulty pipe I am not so sure that I haven't done any further damage to pipework in trying to remove the thing!! I'll let you know. BJ
  6. Little Barry came into the kitchen where his mother was making dinner. His birthday was coming up and he thought this was a good time to tell his mother what he wanted: "Mum, I want a bike for my birthday." Little Barry was a bit of a troublemaker. He had got into trouble at school and at home. Barry's mother asked him if he thought he deserved to get a bike for his birthday. Little Barry, of course, thought he did. Barry's mother, being a Christian woman, wanted him to reflect on his behaviour over the last year, and write a letter to God, and tell him why he deserved a bike for his birthday. Little Barry stomped up the steps to his room and sat down to write God a letter. LETTER 1: Dear God, I have been a very good boy this year and I would like a bike for my birthday. I want a red one. Your friend, Barry. Barry knew this wasn't true. He had not been a very good boy this year, so he tore up the letter and started again. LETTER 2: Dear God, This is your friend Barry. I have been a pretty good boy this year, and I would like a red bike for my birthday. Thank you, Barry. Barry knew this wasn't true either. He tore up the letter and started again. LETTER 3: Dear God, I have been an OK boy this year and I would really like a red bike for my birthday. Your friend, Barry. Barry knew he could not send this letter to God either. Barry was very upset. He went downstairs and told his mother he wanted to go to church. Barry's mother thought her plan had worked because Barry looked very sad. "Just be home in time for dinner," his mother said. Barry walked down the street to the church and up to the altar. He looked around to see if anyone was there. He picked up a statue of the Virgin Mary. He slipped it under his shirt and ran out of the church, down the street, into his house, and up to his room. He shut the door to his room and sat down with a piece of paper and a pen. Barry began to write his letter to God. LETTER 4: I'VE GOT YOUR MUM. IF YOU WANT TO SEE HER AGAIN, SEND THE F*%#ING BIKE
  7. Thanks Seatkid I have the correct tool - but the pipe is still extremely difficult to get off - without it appears removing the front panel. I'll probably cut away some of the fibre glass panel to get at it as I can't bear the thought of having to strip half the car down!!
  8. I've been backwards and forwards that much with this one, I've got completely mixed up - I just had the figures from the original regas in my head. So they gassed it up wrongly the first time... definitely 550g on the first job sheet. :D Thanks seatkid, you're my hero... ...and I won't be making a fool of myself tomorrow. Guys Has anyone taken off an A/C pipe - particularly the ones where they appear to be a push fit - Although I can't get at it easily I could manage but I am not sure how it is disconnected! It looks like it should pull off - But it won't budge and I am scared of breaking the bloody thing. Is there any knack to this?
  9. I know this isn't a brilliant pic - But if you look at the cross member at the back of the picture you can see the pipe that goes to the bulkhead - there is a join there - The pipe looks flared - But I can't see how you can get the pipe out without removing the whole of the front panel as it has the headlamp "bucket" attached to it.
  10. Thanks Paul I haven't as yet stripped it down as far as you have - mainly because I am not sure how far I will need to go. If I can strip it down enough to remove the front panel without taking off the condenser or the raditator then I am happy. Basically the pipe has a joint tht is underneath the back of the offside headlamp and as there is a chassis memeber it sits on I can't get at it properly - Also where the pipe bolts to the front panel there isn't any room to manouvre the thing off. I will have to leave it if I do need to remove the rad etc as that would entail a couple of days off work.
  11. It looks like no 14 on the diagram - It gos from the compressor - via the low pressure access valve and some sort of seperator (all built in) to the pipe that then goes to the evaporator. There is a join which you can see on the diagram - it has three seals (no 17 on the diagram.
  12. I have obtained a new pipe (Low Pressure side) that goes from the compressor to the pipes that go into the evaporator. There is a joint that has three seals at one end. However, There is no room to manouvre this pipe without ( or so it appears) taking off the entire front of the car. It looks like the bonnet landing and all the associated bits need to come off - Including the rad and the condensor (also the bumper). Has anyone any experience of doing this - do I need to remove the entire front or is there another way to do get at it. It's difficult to describe but there is a part of the front panel that forms a box that the offside headlamp fits in - and it is this that obstructs my access to the joint- (which is a push fit). I'll post some pictures but any advice would be welcome. Does anyone with EKTA or similar have any diagrams or PDF sheets on how to remove these pipes? My copy of ELSAWIN has died and I can't get it to run - TIS is plain useless.
  13. Hi I am new to this forum and was looking for some advice on a problem that I have with the coil light flashing while I am driving. I am just about to replace the brake actuator switch on my galaxy as I have found that my break lights are not working when I depress the breaks but the bulbs are ok. Would this effect the coil light as mine seems to be intermittent. It started flashing about May and has stopped then started again. My galaxy is a R reg 1997 model diesel and I have not had much trouble until now and I've had it 7 years. I don't think I have any problems with smoke, though! Any help would be appreciated as I am not mechanical (being a girl! and all that!) :-) I would have or get the brake light switch changed - after first checking that the bulbs are ok -it's a common problem that seems to affect all sorts of strangely unrelated functions on the car. It's also a relatively cheap option. Good luck with being a girl.
  14. You're probably all correct but Jesus do you have to go for the worst scenario straight away? Can't you at least hold out some hope for the poor guy? Let him down gently for chrissakes!!!
  15. Thanks Chaps - It doesn't answer the question as to why it changes as I turn the wheel slightly but at least I can check the bearings etc. There is no rumbling or feeeling of a bearing going. It's down to the coppa slip then I guess!!
  16. Can somebody advise me please. I have a squealing from my brakes that is virtually constant. I have before now removed the pads and calipersand copper slipped them etc which stops it for a short while but the noise returns. However, listening more carefully I notice that the squealing stops when I am on a right hand bend but gets worse on a left hand bend. A dab on the brakes stops its for a while but it comes back. Is this the calipers sticking -or is this something else. Could it be wheel bearings? The car has done 120K miles and in all other respects is fine - The brakes work perfectly - pull up in a straight lines etc. I will remove the calipers etc and re grease but I feel there is something else that could be wrong. Suggestions please (Keep em clean!!) BJ
  17. I hold no brief for the AA never having been a member- but surely someone should have complained about that? Even if theyhad given her the option of upgrading there and then and then taken her somewhere would have been preferable to being left on a Service Area. You can't be sure they wouldn't have done that if you had asked - If you di and they refused thenj OK> I would always ask.
  18. Despite the fact that these light trucks can do 70mph plus they don't accelerate as fast as I do - So to me they go very slowly. I think that they should not be allowed into the overtaking lane at any point as they do cause the traffic to slow and also such a large vehicle has the potential to cause significanlty more damage in an accident than a light van or car. I do an average 800 -900 miles per week and I see a lot of this.
  19. Na! it's just a sign of the tines!!
  20. Does anyone know when the law changed that allows trucks up to 7 tonne Gross Weight in the fast or overtaking lane on the Motorways? It seems to me to be happening more and more that I and trying to overtake and a sodding truck pulls out in front of me and proceeds to slowly, oh so slowly overtake other vehicles. I had thought this was not allowed - but on looking in the Highway code I see that it is. Has it always been thus or when did it change?
  21. So.....Does he just put in a new wire? :)
  22. Don't worry Madbaz this happens from time to time - It'll all setteledown again soon. All that's needed is a little less time on line here and the chance to realise this isn't the only place in the world. Once you have that straight you can come on and participate without losing sight of the reality . I think this site is great and most of the characters on here contribute an amazing amount of help and advice that has certainly saved me hundreds if not thousands of
  23. Oops! Thanks FC - I downloaded them and will use them - often I am sure. BJ
  24. Should pull an 850Kg van with no problems - might hit the consumption a bit but should pull fine. I think your's will be 90BHP
