  1. MM, You Traitor, what about the lack of torque etc.... Mike
  2. SK, the one on the wiper linkage is definately for the booster, the one near the foglight is the "other" external temp sensor.. Mike
  3. The one thing that sounds odd in all of this isthe 3/4 temp gauge reading.... Is there someone local with VAG-COM that can maybe check the actual reported temp in degrees for you? Mike
  4. Only thing I can think of is a physical obstruction somewhere.. Mike
  5. Ogben, why do you need this?? Just download the latesy available VAG-COM for your interface... You shoose the chasis type (model) from in the software - just select Sharan... Mike
  6. Welll... My new Speedbuster arrived today for the merc... So now I have 202bhp and 470nm torque @ 1850rpm.... Mated to a QUALITY 5 speed box.... What more can I say other than... 0-60 clocked on GPS tonigtht @ 8.1 seconds and 50-70 in kickdown at a fraction over 4.5 secs...... Oh and yep, seen the wrong side of 135 on the M58 tonight too........ So petrol or diesel???? no comparison... esp coupled to a decent auto box and 4wd....... Not bad for a car that weighs a touch over 2 tonnes! Mike
  7. Hmm mine was built Dec 2001, reg'd Feb 2002, and it definately only had the single multiplug connection to the aux heater... I had it off enough times lol... Mike
  8. Hmm, maybe it should have a termination plug with a resistor in it? Will have a root later.. Mike
  9. I had a non detachable towbar on mine, with dual electric sockets and a bumper protector plate.... When I bouth the car I was told that the rear sensors would not work because of the bar... And the garage had disconnected the multiplug to the control unit... I put it back in, and they worked faultlessly.... I would say that I am sure you can get away with dosconnecting the 2 middle ones.... Just lean under the bumper and give it a go - nowt to lose... Mike
  10. Righty... The Temp sensor near the foglight is for the dash display and Ice warning, the one on the wiper arm is the one for the aux heater.. Try unplugging and spraying with a bit of WD40, the connector to the actual aux heater... It's a tricky little blighter that doesn't alwatys go all the way home.. Mike
  11. Hmm... Depreciation... My new car cost
  12. Don't skimp on the throttle, and work it a little bit to prevent the bores being polished, as this will also increase oil use.. Mike
  13. FWIW, I drive a diesel for the torque and effortless overtaking... In my TDi 115 Gal, I averaged 31mpg over 12 months and 11500 miles... In my new ML270Cdi I am averaging 25.8 over the first 1000 or so miles of ownership... I do drive my cars hard, and I don't drive for economy... God help me If I had a VR6... Maybe 15mpg? Or and ML320... Prob nearer 10mpg! Mike
  14. As MM suggested... I think the No1 thing we have to establish is that water can easily flow through the rad... Do it in situ, but basically you wanna put the hose in the bottom of the rad and have water gushing out of the top and vice versa... This will eliminate another item... Mike
  15. Sounds like an A/C dier/receiver.. Does the car have aircin? Mike
  16. Have you done a full flush both ways - diect to the rad, just to eliminate a collapsed/blocked core? Mike
  17. Now now... Anyway I can confirm that I also thought the recoil was way to harsh on all 3 of the middle row of belts.. I found this after getting tired of telling the kids to stop whacking the windows..... Until I tried it myself... Mike
  18. I really would not worry about the small power load they will place on the system, unless you let them sit in the car for 12 hours with the engine off, I think you'll have nothing to worry about - Remember, the battery is purely a reserve of power, for starting and under extremely high loads... The system will have been designed so that under normal use, ie how you describe it, so that the alternator supplys all the power AND keeps the battery charged. HTH Mike
  19. Surely the players. being portable have a low voltage DC input? Ie the mains is stepped down and turned into DC?? In which case just get a DC to DC invertor from Maplins or the like... I recently got one to run the Playstation 2 in the car - cost me
  20. Hmmm... Lets see... Nasty Ford lump with old technology 4 speed auto, Or one of the torquiest diesels around with a 5 speed auto?? No choice really... You may have saved a bit of
  21. Maplin have an mp3/USB?SD comdo for
  22. I had this a couple of times on my 2006... Put it down to dodgy cdr's..... Mike
  23. On the subject of the rear cover, my (old) gal was a Zetec and didn't have one, at first I really missed it as the prev car ({icasso - spit, spit) had it and I never thought twice about leaving stuff in the "boot" Guess I must have just become acustomed to not having one on the Gal... My new ML has one, and I'd forgotten what a godsend they are when there is no alternative but to leave stuff in the car.. Having a lockable safe under the drivers' seat is also a nice point (comes as part of the 7 seater "family pack") Mike
  24. Glad you like them! Was wondering in the smaller balast would fit insode the lamp... Obviously it did! Mike
  25. Adam, not sure it it comes in the Pilot kit, they had them in the Techone's.. Will email my supplier.. Mike
