  1. I'd go for a Speedbuster every time... 143 bhp from the 115... Fitted and removed in minutes... So you can use it on your next one... Or sell it.... as I did to a certain member on here, who fitted it to his 130, and was well impressed... Mike
  2. It may not be that part of the switch - remember there are actually 2 switches in the unit - 1 controls the lights and the other signals to the ecu that you are on the brakes... Mike
  3. For me, Etyres as above are the dogs danglies.... 50% cheaper than Kwikfit too! Mike
  4. Trouble with these, and also ones to be fitted to escorts and fiestas, is that it isn't a simple "pull/push" action to lock/unlock. The mechanism needs to be moved a finite amount to lock/unlock, as too much will operate the door release... Mike
  5. Now now, pick up your handbags, whilst I agree partly with JB, I also think that as a forum, we try to help each other.. For what it is worth, I have about 60 code calcs on my PC, and have prob only used 1 of them.... For myself.. I have never provided codes to others, BUT if asked, I would probably do it... As I would expect another member to do if the tables were turned... Come on. if he's a radio thief, he'll get caught out sooner or later.... He just better hope it not sooner if he has his eyes on my Becker Radio CD..... 'coz he woudn't be able to ask for a code if I caught him..... Come on guys, lighten up a bit and help a noob out... as long as he don't come back with a request for 40 more codes, what's the problem???? Mike Oh and Biggles, feel free to PM me the details, and I'll try and help you....
  6. Not done it on the Gal, but on my ML - which has the same sort of fibreboard backed headlining, all I did was cut a slit in the h/L long enough to get a piece of 8mm plywood, approx 300x300mm slid in, then I fixed the flip down screen to this as a base, I would not recommend not fitting a support as the screws WILL come out if you screw direct to the headlining, remember - once it is flipped down, the screen will exert quite a lot of leverage on the base as it moves when driving.... Also, I used a cable management tool (fish) to feed the cables up the pillar by the passenger seatbelt, so that made it a lot easier. Went for a VIETA in dash DIN sized DVD/MP3/DIVX/MPEG player in black to match the radio (ML had double DIN, I just removed the cubbyhole below the CD player and the DVD fits perfectly and looks great) 5 pairs of cordless BOSS headphones from Ebay later, and nothing but silence from the rear seats.... TIP - don't bother with a TV tuner, I got one supposedly designed for mobile digital DVB, was ok when stationary, as soon as you go over about 15mph the picture goes... Ok if you live in London I suppose... If anyone wants any pics, prices or links, let me know.. Mike
  7. Matt, the 0-40'ish is bloody unbelieveable... I nearly sh*t myself after it was chipped... Gets the power down well though... Was thinking of getting a sticker for the back saying "Yes It's a DIESEL AUTO!!!!" Not been outrun in the traffic light Grand Prix yet!!!!! Only thing that slows the 0-60 down is the time the box takes to change up at max revs... I may try just using full throttle rather than kickdown, but the Missus refuses to be in the car operating the stopwatch... Hence the shaky video lol... Mike
  8. 18 secs to 60... hmm, just bought our 2nd car... A nice 2005 BMW 535 TD Sport... Had it chipped yesterday..... 0-40 in about 2 seconds, 0-60 in less than 6... here's the evidence taken on my mobile...... Download the video BTW this is actual footage... Torque is now over 600 nm and bhp is around 390........ The kick in the back on kickdon is something else... Oh and YES, ~THIS IS AN AUTO!!!!! Mike Comments please......
  9. Oggy is right, the one adjacent to the NS foglight is for the interior temp display, the one on the wiper arm is for the aux heater. Mike
  10. PMSL - Paul you just reminded me... Sukkin Pang...... What a name, I nearly asked him if it was real when I spoke o him lol.... Sukkin Pang PMSL!!!!! Mike
  11. Look at this thread m8 http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.ph...=6863&hl=wipers Mike
  12. SKPang is legit and above board. He sells OEM GENUINE versions of VAG-COM and is licensed by them to do it. Has anone actually looked inside one of SKPangs USB Key-Pro leads... The amount of IC's and stuff in there is unreal... Compare it to a cheap opto coupled lead from Ebay.... My lead (before I sold it to a forum member) worked fine with all the latest software, and, as it is registered with Ross-Tech you get hardware and software support from them! I actually wish I had not sold the lead now, as apparently I could have used it with my Merc... Not that anything has gone wrong.... Fingers X'd! Mike
  13. Martin, go for the SKPang cable m8 - it WILL save you more than it costs, ESP if your car ever need to go to a stealers! Mike
  14. Ooh SK, I can feel my Royalties rolling in already.... Mike
  15. I have heard from a lot of peeps with Mk 1's where the aux heater does not talk to VAG - COM, had a couple at my house too... It seems to be something to do with the diagnostic setup differing or different protocols on the mk2 Mike
  16. I have had my TCM apart on 2 occasions, both to check general condition, and secondly under a high mag lens to check for soldered joints..... Joint quality was very high as was genral PCB construction and layout.... Remember, the Gearbox ECU is made by Jatco in Japan - They maty be cr@p @ gearboxes, but they know how to solder! Mike
  17. Me all happy now Jas.... Mike
  18. Ford? Sorry NEVER again... Mike
  19. Sounds more like the infamous brake light switch to me... Mike
  20. Martin - 5 hours???? Yep you are right though, after 5 failed attempts the ECU blocks it firing up... you could always leave the battery disconnected overnight to clear the fault.... (I think ithis still works..) Mike
  21. Apparently, the water on the PAS belt thing is a REAL danger...... And most prob a serious accident causer... I wonder what recourse you could take agains a garage that forgot to refit it???? Mike
  22. MAAAAAAAFFFFF!!!! Lol! Take some good advice, and get it changed lol.. Oh I am a happy chappie tonight  Mike
