BUT, the seats themselves are the same width..... Mike
-
Wonkydog, all the seats (for the rear) are the same width regardless of if it is a 5.6 or 7 seater... But on the 6 seater, they tend to be placed further inboard on the next set of mounts... Mike

Also if ya have acxcess to TIS (can't find my disc) then loog under workshop manual/Galaxy/Vehicles with AG5 autoi trans... States it clearly there! Mike

Definately not wrong m8.. Will post proof when I get a min... The way I noticed it was as I said, Let it move forward at idle and thenhold the car stationary in D on the brakes... After about 3 seconds you should be agble to feel drive disengage.... As soon as brake is released or accel is pressed it takes up again.. Very quickly.... Mike
-
if you hold the car on the brakes in D - once it has warmed up.. you should be able to feel the drive cut after 3 seconds.. It's called "static cut out" look in the TIS lol Mike
-
Soz John, but when you put your foot on the brake in an auto galaxy, drive is automatically disengaged... It's a standard feature to keep emissions low... thry just holding the cadr in D with the footbrake pressed only hard enought to operate the brake lights... You will feel a DEFINATE and POSITIVE disengagement of drive...... Takes it up again VERY quickly when you release the brake pedal though...... TBH it's one of the things I actually miss on my Merc, as on a very light brake pedal, and in D the Merc will creep - whereas the Gal NEVER did due to the idle stop.. Mike

GSMGuy replied to marinabrid's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
MM, IIRC, all the heaters are rated at 2 otputs, approx 2.8 and 5kw...... Mike -
John, those were the days m8 - DIY ruled - no need for the AA or RAC!!!! Mike
-
I was given that figure from the guy who rebuilt my box - TWICE, he looked it up in his tech manuals... Mike
-
Tim - you are correct, the Jatco is rated at 325 nm... But running it so close to the limit isn't healthy.. Mike

Thanks Kev... MAtt - don't bother with the cheap ebay ones, they merely fool the car into running rich... There is quite a lengthy thread on this somewhere, but the search engine on here is - to use a technical acromyn - CRAP! Will have a look for it now.. Mike

I was in the loft last year, and dug out my "Brothers in Arms" on Vinyl, my 10 year old was amazed as she had never seen a vinyl album! Mike

No, a record is a black piece of plastic with a small hole in the middle, and a long spiral groove on each side leading from the outside to the centre. It preceded these new-fangled CDs that some people seem so keen to play in their cars. ROFLMFO!!!! Mike

Fuel Consumption Spreadsheet
GSMGuy replied to katman's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Told you it would go down well Katman!! Mike -
Which is why I suggest holding down the vent and actually filling right to the brim... Also Keith, maybe you'd like to share your spreadsheet?? Mike
-
The only TRUE and ACCURATE way to measure mpg is the old "brim to brim" one - Simply fill your Gal right to the brim - remember to press the vent valve with the filler nozzle, as you can get a good 5l extra in, then do a bit of mileage, prob best to do 3 or 400, and simply brim it again, convert fuel used into gallons by dividing by 4.54 and then divide the miles covered by the gallons... simple and VERY accurate. It will also show how cr@p the trip computer is for average mpg! Mike
-
IMHO, you can lose 50 miles easily to congestion and roadworks... Also, it depends on whether you work on mileage or Poundage (

John, car was only chipped AFTER the box problem had arisen and been sorted m8.... Chip now gone to a VERY happy TDi 130 Ghia owner on here..... Mike
-
Aftera nightmare with a 115 Auto, that had 2 boxes and 4 valve chests in 12 months..... I'd say .. Smooth changes up and down the box, look for a "staggered" change between 2/3 and 3/4 ie, the change takes place in 2 definate stages, rather than one - this is a sure indication of clutch pack weakness, a known fault - rebuild kits have uprated components. Also make sure you get to drive it from STONE COLD as some problems go away once warm...... Plus the usual, aircon, aux heaer (should be on pretty much every start at the mo  ) Mike
-
Warm with a hairdrier from the OUTSIDE, thus heating the glass and not the sticker directly - also the glass will store the heat as you use both hans to peet off the sticker at an angle... Works everytime for me! Mike
-
Glad you are sorted m8 - My pain was not for nothing lololol!!! Mike
