Programing Electric Windows
Masked Marauder replied to Masked Marauder's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Yep, need something to put some voltage across my temples as part of my ECT... No, my timing belt snapped and I got 8 bent valves and 8 popped lifters, but all better now. -
It is behind the dashboard panel/behind the glove box on the passenger side.

The free software has a limited functionality. You will need to buy the software if you use a cloned lead. -

Brake fluid should be changed every 2 years. Check the coolant colour, if it is blue or green it needs to be changed to Purple coloured Ford super plus. Aircon should be checked every 3 years, but is hideously un-reliable anyway. -
Symptom of failed glow-plugs. Do you have to crank the engine for a bit before it starts from cold? That is another sign...

When you start it from cold, o you have to crank it for a short while or just turn the key and it goes? If you have to crank it then it could be the glow plugs have failed.

1. ABS light not working is a reason for MOT failure 2. Bridge the terminals and see if the lights work 3. A door handle not working is a reason for MOT failure The garage sold you a defective & unroadworthy vehicle. Period. They must repair or you can reject the goods. The fact that they have obtained a dodgy MOT for it makes matter much, much worse. Contact your local VOSA branch. -

They will not do each others warranty work, nor will they do things like keys etc. or model specific parts like badges or badged parts. -
You have to suspend the engine and remove the engine mounts, exhaust, loads of other bits.... You can then move the engine to the left and remove the transmission.

Try a different dealer as it is clearly a clutch hydraulic problem. -
They simpy unbolt, all you need is a spanner.

A distinct possibility

I got five bleeps when my timing belt snapped and the engine was being cranked. So nothing wrong with my crank sensor, so it must have been something else. On the TDi injector No3 there is a needle lift sensor. When the injector operates (by fuel pressure) the sensor knows the injector has worked and passes this to the ECU. Now on my other car (a TUD5 diesel engined Rover) I had a hole in the fuel pipe, tiny tiny thing. But sometimes the air drawn in through the hole was enough to cause the car starting problems as the air is more compressible than fuel it takes time to get through the injectors. If this was happening the injector sensor would be showing a fault. (It is the brown plug in the photo above btw) So it is a long shot, perhaps you are getting air drawn into the fuel line. Open the bonnet, remove the beautification cover, start your engine and look at the clear plastic pipe going into the fuel pump, there should be no air bubbles flowing through the pipe. Easy to check, probably not the problem, but you never know.

The standard profile tyres are re-enforced, don't know about the low profiles though. Yokahama A539s have a very stiff tyrewall anyway.

I passed my mechanics badge at boy scouts on a GPO Commer van. Was a 4T though. -
The car is a VW, so only Ford alloys for the Galaxy will fit. Other than that you can use VW alloys and some SEAT ones too. If you make sure the PCD and offset are right then you won't go wrong. There are lots of stying/performance goods about for the car, do a search on Google, don't forget to search on Volkswagon Sharan too though!
