  1. Output spindle from the motor clamped up right?
  2. SOmething tells me we have a Tojan on the site!! No one has denied that Ford Dealers spend thousands - usually on bonuses for technicians to rush jobs and bring in the dosh! He works at a dealers. And quite frankly, I find it insulting to suggest that because your not Ford trained you can't do the job as well as someone who is.
  3. No, you put the glue into the socket and then fit it onto the oiled balljoint, youd don't wait for the glue to dry first. But I don't know that that would be hard wearing enough. Perhaps a two-pack epoxy may work, I would take care that the glue does not bond to the ball though.
  4. Take the seats out and put an air matress in, you will be more comfortable.... :o :(
  5. The injection pump is driven by the timing belt, not the aux belt!
  6. Clutch master cylinder faulty by the description. Are you losing any brake/clutch fluid? (it is a shared reservoir)
  7. I could not get by without my ez-bleed.
  8. When we had plastic sockets go slack we used to oil the metal ball joint and put super glue into the socket before snapping it on. The super glue then sets putting a new layer onto the socket.
  9. When I picked up my (second hand) Alhambra I got nearly 80 litres in the tank, I thought that that was normal. I was trembling when handing the cash over at the desk,
  10. If both the wipers move when you move one arm, then the splines on the motor are either stripped out or the clamp to the motor spindle needs tightening. The door lock issue. The internal door card will have to come off.
  11. I have the same wire on mine and nothing to connect it to either!
  12. Do the new models not have clear side repeaters as standard?
  13. If the light is coming on the the system has failed. The main components are a sensor on each wheel, the ABS pump and the control module. Pads have no effect on the ABS system check at all. You will need to have the system hooked up to the dealers computer or if someone who lives nearby has VAG-COM they may be able to help out.
  14. They are used (various lengths) on the endplate and selector housing of just about every Vauxhall gearbox made.
  15. Well there ya go, TIS says bleed by opening the nipple and bleeding in the normal manner.
  16. 'scuse me seeming simple, but if the system could bleed it's self, would we not have self bleeding brakes too? I doubt very much that the system can bleed it's self.

  18. No, but go ahead. But remember, they are laughing at you, not with you!
  19. Yes, the cambelt does drive the pump in the non-pd engines.
  20. The trucks at my work have the diagnostic set on-board. If the computer sets a flag on the display and you go to the workshops the fitters just reset it and tell you to come back on if it logs it again! However, VAG-COM is a useful tool for the DIYer, but if your scared to do the work yourself then why worry?
  21. I am sure you can just press them back in as that is all the Ford special tool does, but the important thing is to make sure the piston is pushed evenly back in and a wind-back tool does this fine. Make sure you clamp the pipe off and open the bleed nipple though or detritus in the fluid can block the ABS unit pistons.
  22. German Swedish and French will be a good source for the pads if you are near a branch, don't forget your car is the same as a VW Sharan! http://www.gsfcarparts.com/ The calipers must be wound back in, your correct there, but a decent wind-back tool is not expensive. http://trevor.dynip.com/images/windback.jpg You will also need a brake-pipe clamp as you need to clamp the flexible pipe off and open the bleed nipple when you wind the caliper back in.
  23. Can I just add that the way to program the key requires TWO other keys that are programed. If you only have one you will need VAG-COM.
  24. No, not really, I use Vauxhall semi-synthetic.
