  1. C16 is the connector number IIRC? and thats on the cjb good luck :angry2:
  2. you can get to the majority of the contol servo's/motors by removeing both glove boxes on the mk1 if you dont have the passenger air bag on the mk2 IIRC its a dash out job! there are pictures somewhere of a mk2 heater unit sitting on someones drive way with all the motors on show :angry2:
  3. no due to different recliner mechs and general shape and hieght of the seat back of the rear seat compared to the front seats
  4. it shouldnt! sounds like you have a flap stuck! or the motors out of step? IIRC there is a way of checking the control motors operation by pushing the buttons on the control panel in the right order? if not its a trip to the stealers to get the codes read or find someone with vag com willing to do it for you
  5. its like this............nope cant be asked someone else will be along in a minute to tell you that its meant to do that and how the bulb warning system doesnt see the brake lights untill you complete the circuit and push the pedal good luck they'll be along shortly :angry2:
  6. under the expansion bottle, tucked up behind and under the battery, bit of a bitch to get at, but you should be able to see the part nos on it if you look hard enough as its on a plate facing into the engine bay
  7. ahh that explains it then! the reason why the cars in such a bad state! him when did it start making that noise? her around easter time but it was a lot quieter back then him....sound of head hitting steering wheel and will to live slowly leaving body .....
  8. 1. Noise from steering when manouvering/parking in a small area!! top mounts common problem they fill with water and the bearing rust and lock up 2. Gremlins in the electrics (no speedo etc etc...) check the connections to the dash, although it would help if we knew what the etc etc was as well? 3 Battery dead if car left inactive for more than 3 days!! first off check the battery condition/age it could just be old and buggered then check interior lights are not left on (boot area) then start pulling fuses and look for the drain 4 Ageing alloy wheels keep on giving tyre tubes slow punctures! get another set or get them refurbed, replace them with a set of steelies and say sod it to alloy, the mrs can then curb it till she's content in the fact that she's ruined yet another set of wheels ;) mind you just how attacthed to the mrs and kids are you? it could be cheaper and easier just to do a runner ;)
  9. as someone once said...... Let's start at the very beginning A very good place to start When you read you begin with A-B-C When you sing you begin with do-re-mi Do-re-mi, do-re-mi The first three notes just happen to be Do-re-mi, do-re-mi come on kev sing along you know the words ;) rear door or rear hatch?
  10. nooooooo! just think how annoying it will be honking the horn every time you lock or unlock the doors, early morning and late at night, your be a well loved man round you way  link it to the indicators get them to flash that way you have a visual aid to help you find your car in the dark when you fall out the pub door :16:
  11. whats the front passenger seat like? you could always swap the two over! the seat backs are removable from the bases so it would be possible to swap them over and keep the air bags operational
  12. the answer is in your question  undo the two bolts holding the MAF in and remove it from its houseing, be carefull not to damage it! tuck it safely up out the way, now get someone to start the engine while you spray the contents of the can into the hole the MAF was in, aim the nozzle in the pipe towards the engine and not towards the air filter! there are several reviews on this stuff! some good some bad! try it and see how you go? if the turbo is really gummed up it may be too late for this stuff? there is another turbo cleaner out there that has good reports on some of the VW sites, I posted a link to it somewhere!

  18. between the steering column and the drivers door about where you knee hits the lower dash
  19. damn that mans annoying
  20. the rear door/hatch? if so? the rear hatch can be removed from the central locking system by turning the key in the lock, I forget which way you have to turn it but I'm sure someone will be along who does? either that or the cabes to the rear hatch have gone! loads of posts on this topic so hit the search engine and have fun
  21. Wires? Running to the washer jets? If so they are heated! Check yours are? If not upgrade before the winter sets in and have no more iced up washer jets ;) you may possibly have the under bonnet light fitted to this bonnet? Again another possible upgrade?
  22. I'd say your running the running the wrong profile tyres! 225/35R19, 235/35R19, 245/35R19, 245/40R19, 255/35R19 are the recomended sizes for 19's but even then you will get rub if your slammed as well? 19's on 235/35/ 19 and they still rub! see the mark inside the rear of the arch
  23. http://www.innotecworld.com/c-1064-turbo-clean-set.aspx has had reviews on a few VW tdi forums
