Heater Blows Cold When In Traffic
mk2vr6 replied to dave030445's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
what not fitted or not kicking out heat? -
you pulled the plug on the back of the clocks lately? or disconnected the battery? this has been know to happen when you reconnect power to the clocks! the needle jumps around the display and sticks at the wrong side of the pin! try pulling the plug again and reconnecting it and see how you get on?

Heater Blows Cold When In Traffic
mk2vr6 replied to dave030445's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
not saying your main pump hasnt failed! first of replace the stat, cheap and fairly easy job then go from there, you can also check the operation of the after run pump to see if its still working? as you say the heater kicks out more heat when the engine is revving from that I would say that the main pump is the prime suspect! does the rear heater still kick out plenty of heat? at low revs? -
try cleaning the rubbers, a squirt of silicon spray in the guides has been known to help! the extra resistance in the guides sets of the anti trap feature by the way I have 12 cans of the stuff sitting in tha garage ;) dont you just love storemen with a bad attitude to the management who are leaving ;)

WHAT? if they do the job correctly and your ac works they wont charge you? nice now if they did the same deal on tyres! as not charging you for tyres with more tread on when you drive out than when you drove in ;)
-
both located near the stat or on the stat housing IIRC?
-
way to much info! but if you have pictures to prove this point? certain members on here would be very grateful, wouldnt you Kev ;)

Heater Blows Cold When In Traffic

i thought i only had 1 water pump, shows what i know. Where is this aux pump some where nice and easy to get to. (i bet not) cheers dave aux water pump? coolant run on pump, located in the pipe work on the block to the rear of the coil pack, its in the return pipe work from the heater -
yes the air passes over the condensor then over the heater matrix, the condensor removes moisture fron said air so when your system is running on AUTO and set to demist the ac will kick in to speed up the demisting process, this has been explain elsewhere several times

first off have you changed the stat? if this fails to open! the engine will run hot and can blow hoses! but as you the temp drops when the fans cut in i dont think this the case the fans IIRC are two stage fans but I cant be arsed to go dig out all my tech info! if this is the case it sounds like you have lost the lower fans? taken from the Corrado forum .... may not apply to the Galaxy but it will keep you busy :25: The definitive VR6 cooling guide by dinkus -

Mk1 Immobiliser / Ignition Problem - Help!
mk2vr6 replied to CGCred's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
to put it bluntly your Fkd! if you seperate the main ECU from the pats ECU the link is lost and the main ECU will not accept it back or another one without being told to do so! good luck looks like you need a trip to the dealers and hooking up to their system to re intialise the link! -
small sensor to check the air temp in the panel that has a fan in it to draw the cabin air over it, look closely and you'll see the grill
-
I know this is an old topic ,but i have same problem, how did you cure it. Any ideas where to start. check the intake system for air leaks? then try cleaning the throttle body, the butterfly can stick, also do a reset on the stepper motor, switch on the ignition till the ignition lights are on, but dont start the engine! leave the key in that position and you should hear the throttle body going through its reset procedure? during this DO NOT touch the throttle pedal! after a couple of minutes switch off and start the engine and see how she runs?

Where Does This Pipe Go?
mk2vr6 replied to ricki's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
I would have to agree with seatkid on this and say its the air line for the air intake charge pressure sensor, the other end of the hose when it appears in the engine bay should be connected to the pipe inbetween the intercooler and intake manifold on lhd side of the engine bay near the intake temp sensor, it maybe worth while for the op to trace the source of the pipe? that way we will know for sure, if it is then it connects to the main ecu as the pressure sensor is part of that -

Why cant it be cruise control> Dont TDis Fords have them? My SEAT is a TDi and has CC. To me its a CC pipe and should be going up the steering column to the CC control. because Tdi's are fly by wire take a look at the pictures, the huge great lump of plastic attatched to the throttle pedal is a big give away :D and if it was cruise control where abouts up in the steering column would it be going to? on petrol versions the cruise is operated by vaccume lines but the control switch is still an electronic switch! -

mk2vr6 replied to ricki's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
you have Tdi so its not cruise control related, climate control or rotary dials? if rotary then see if the recirc option on the ventilation is working? and you sure its blowing not sucking? -
we need more pictures of the MK2 ;)
-
Throw Maz underneath it with a spanner.... Obviously you may have to jack the car up a bit ;) why bother jacking it up? if you get a good enough run up she'll fit under there ok ;)
