lol...... I meant where does the term edition 38 come from not where as in geograohically.

Does it have to be anthracite as the one thing that is usually left in scrap dealer cars is the seats.

where does the Edition 38 come from?

In my opinion it is just an age issue. Headlights have advanced rapidly over the past 5-10 years or so and it makes older cars seem so inferior. I don't really think there is any way of improving the Mk1 lights as it is probably more to do with the lenses than anything else. Funny how nearly all new cars have clear lenses now (this must let much more light out). Spent my apprenticeship alongside Lucas apprentices who worked on beam patterns with the old "frosted" style lenses. Probably would have laughed at them if they had suggested clear lenses then.

My sources quote them as being named after the amount of times Al Pacino says the "F" word in Scarface.

Urgent Advice On Drivetrain
greg_68 replied to daz131's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Remove the undertray. Go for a run in the car say 5 miles to get the oil up to around the right temp. Get under the car. Towards the back of the gearbox sump there is a plug (6mm allen I think) Remove this. Still underneath on the front face of the gearbox you will see a "ledge" with a plastic filler plug in (about 2 inches high) Remove this plastic plug by pulling it up. Fill gearbox with oil until it drips out of the sump/level plug. -

Speed Per 1000 Rpm Galaxy Ghia 2.8 Auto
greg_68 replied to Tony999's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
This may or maynot help. When I had my 2.8 I am almost certain that both needles pointed directly up when in top gear (i.e when the speed needle is TDC so is the rev counter). Don't know what this means in mph or revs though. -
Bit of fun. Give us the three people you would like to swap lives with. me 1. Jeremy Clarkson (driving, fame, money, women...no scrub that last one) 2. Steve McLaren (pride of leading England out) 3. Fernando Alonso. (sheer terror and excitement...oh and the money) I am interested to see who the girlies see as their idols.

Can I be a moderator please....

Save yourself sometime then and only respond to items that someone complains/comments on. I can't believe that you have to read every post on this site. There are enough adult sensible people who are regularly on here all day on and off (bit like myself) who can contact the moderators as soon as anything that may require your attention pops up. Make use of them. That way most posts will be dealt with within an hour if needs be. There can't be anything that bad to get on the site can there. Surely 3 people reading every single post every day is very inefficient. I am sure other sites moderators do not read every post....or am I wrong.

Personally I think the site runs just fine both before and since the moderators took their place. Agree with 3.5 there seems to be double standards regarding avatars. But I don't think anything really needs moderating anyway, the excuse that it is an open forum is a bit weak. The fact that kids maybe able to read it is irrelavant as they would probably teach you a few choice sayings after viewing some of my daughters schoolfriends Pizco sites (all the new craze apparently). The only small fault I find with the new style site is the amount of pinned items is making the actual new threads section too small on certain sections. Most of the pinned items are out of date or totally unused/viewed. Maybe some cleaning up needs to be done (theres a job for the moderators 3.5) I say keep the drivel in the posts, I don't think it will ever stop and the site would become very dull indeed without it, that said many posts degenerate into OT rubbish (like the gearstick at present). Maybe after a while moderators can go back into posts after the banter has ceased and clean up old posts to show only the useable replies. (see we do need them, that's 2 things now) Neil why do you spend 6 hours a day trawling through posts? If it is to check/moderate posts would it not be easier to say that moderators will respond to any complaints and then just look at these. 6 hours a day I'd feel insecure too. Keep up the good work, it is a thankless task, but thanks anyway.

I too have the MM Belkin type transmitter (about 10 quid off Ebay). Make sure you get the one where you choose the frequency. At first I had the cigar lighter version with three set frequencies which were all around 88.0 Mhz Being in Brum where there are more pirate stations than legal ones the drive to work past blocks of flats transmitting returned an interesting remix of my tunes. Coldplay with a drum and base interlude doesn't go well. Get a variable one like the one MM posted so you can choose the frequency.

To my knowledge (not very great) low level fuel lights are usually set to be approx 1/8th of the full tank range. Therefore petrols and diesels will be different. My V6 comes on at about a range of 30 miles which is right for 1/8 as a full tank gives about 240 miles. Would the oil burners then confirm that their lights come on about the same time which would give a range of about 65'ish miles. As already quoted it is unadvisable to run a diesel dry, although the more sophisticated newer engines do not let you run it dry, they will introduce a misfire into the engine to make you stop the car before running it dry. Has anyone actually run out of fuel in a Galaxy? If so how long had it been running at zero range? do all Galaxy's have the range feature?

Well done MM, in the early days I used to worry about my feedback and would not leave deserved negative feedback in the fear that I would receive the same in return. Now I don't care about feedback I have soon realised that no one takes much notice anyway unless it is truly bad. You see traders with bad feedback still selling so peeps obviously don't care or don't check. Bagpuss, defo file a claim, it is amazing how it works within hours sometimes. Filed one on Thursady, paid within the hour. personally I leave feedback as soon as the person pays, as far as i am concerned they have kept their end of the deal. As yet only one negative feedback out of around 1100 sales. Some knob in the USA bought a PS2 game and thought it would play on his US format PS2. Left feedback saying it was a copy, which I was really miffed about that. Good luck MM and Bagpuss.
