i was told yonks back by the ford dealer that certain parts on the heaters are not available sepratly,so in other words when it breaks it requires a complete new unit. as mirez has said our cars are about 95% vw,perhaps go and pay a visit to your vw dealers and have a sly word with 1 of the technicians there to see if they can offer some advice on the coding.
-
yeah its the watcha me call it playing up.:) dunno m8 could be anything or nothing? from clutch/gearbox drive shafts, maybe a bit more info and the technical guys who are on here will be able to offer you some advice on what it could be. welcome to the forum.:(

Help Booster Heater Smoking
gregers replied to kertrats24's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
thanx m8,thats about the same as mine, so can someone plz explain to me(numpty)how long the bit that heats up/burns is on a new 1,and how do you tell if the old one is nakered? -
next time you drive it,and then stop jump out and grab hold of the unit,if you BURN YOUR HAND THEN YOU KNOW ITS WORKING:lol: as sotal has said maybe it got up to temp and cut out like it should.

i would say once you can honestly say the wiring isnt at fault then it may be the wiper switch itself.

I striped down the heater today to fit new glowplug only to find i had the wrong replacement after removing the old one i attached it to 12v and it heats up dos this meen the glow plug is ok. whats the coding on the new plug?how much was it?,i too have got to change my plug as well,im assuming just because it heats up is it enough to get the heater to work properly? -
Water In Drivers Side Footwell
gregers replied to newbie's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
i think maybe your drain holes maybe blocked, under the bonnet and under the scuttle area either side are drain holes iirc in the whhel arches is a flap that you can get your hand in there to clear the crud out, maybe also use some wire to gently poke down through the holes? -
good luck m8,thats the trouble with cars, pay loads get sod all back.

yes it will do,once youve made 4 more;):(

Have I Bought The Wrong Tyres For My 1.9tdi?
gregers replied to rwtomkins's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
shouldnt the fitter have made sure before fitting the new tyres checked?or noticed that the old tyres had a different rating? take them back, kick up a stink and demand they sort it out, pronto. -
you have to make sure the new fob has the correct coding, other wise it will not work.this info should be on the side of the fob itself.
-
thats a bugger for you m8.:)
-
its either dealers, ebay or a scrappy me thinks.

well mine is approching 97k,mine hasnt got leather,SO I WILL BE THE 1ST HERE:rolleyes:if you buy and dont like the leather give me a shout and ill swapp my interior over for yours:lol::). there good cars, like all cars they have there problems, hence theres forums like this 1 to help people out with the fixes needed. what price is it up for? parkers.co.uk is a good place to get 2nd hand prices from plus will give you all info needed about the car. life span iirc there was someone on here who had/has 1 that had 240k on the clock :oand still going strong. is it a dealer sale or private? if dealer negociate a decent warrenty, and if any faults found tell them to sort them out within 28 days under the sale of goods act, rather then the warrenty, because most dealers will fob you off with THAT PART ISNT COVERED. what year is it, make sure air con is working properly, can be expensive to fix. also make sure the booster heater is working, you should here a jet engine noise from under the rear passenger side.again expensive to fix. hth a bit . oh and welcome to the forum:)
-
thats a good idea but only if you have the time to wait for it,i on the other hand needed the car within the short space of time i had to carry out the fix,so i followed the intructions in the faqs(twice now:blink:)and will do again if needed.but getting it fixed on the cheap is what it is all about and well done to everyone who does it,coz it is a pain in the arse.

well as we now also have an smax, can i suggest you have a test drive in 1,think you will be very surprised on the size and equipment that comes as standard, and it is quick, ours is a tdi which is 140bhp engine.also the smax has been voted the currant best mpv in auto express. zaffy had 1 wouldnt go down that route again and the mk2 version with the 1.6 petrol engine OH DEAR WHY. voyager ,a mates got 1 is always complaining on the ammount of fuel it uses.plus the middle windows do not open. how about the toyota verso? or the mazda? or is that downsizing to much? oh ive thought of another 1, A SHALAXY,there you go sorted,:P
