  1. NO i think i was, chris i totally forgot the name of that bloody road :o:lol: . but yes that is the closest duel ive got, that is if it aint a carpark when i need to use it.:)
  2. i know im meant to laff,but i dont get it m8.
  3. 20 mins per day depending on YOUR driving style then :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: about right there m8,my car is used approx 1/2 hr each day. so i have to take it for a bit of a thrash once a week on the nearest duel carrigeway.
  4. think i may have a very similar engine in my smax, ive been told that to ensure the dpf is working correctly, then it requires an itailian tune every few weeks for about 20 mins at high revs. so much for these being fitted on small town cars, think its a expensive con.
  5. found in the faqs, http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?/topic/8351-fitting-a-new-brake-light-switch/page__p__63453#entry63453
  6. yeah the concensus is it dont work on IE.
  7. i think you need to go back and have a bit of a rant at them.
  8. as mad baz has said totally garbage, iirc under the sale of goods act you have 28 days to notify the dealer of any faults. what you do have to do is allow them to make any repairs to it before you can try rejection of car. do not hesitate over this, contact consumer direct asap, ive been down this route with a dealer about 5 years ago they are a very helpful bunch.
  9. did you go to a ford dealer for the service/check? if not it sounds like they are the people to have a look at it, their diagnostic equipment tends to be a bit better than your average local garage thats a laugh, thats why theres a forum like ours. its because the robbing gits dont have a clue on what there doing, especially as the op's is mostly vw. i suggest buying a obd11 lead,do a search on here for the required info, that way you can then read most of the general codes yourself. iirc the lead costs around 10-20 quid from ebay, there are various posts on the subject, save you a fortune within 1 diagnostic visit to the stealers. there may even be a member who lives near you who would be able to read the codes for you? wait a bit someone may offer some help.
  10. yeah ring guy you bought it from and demand a refund.
  11. ive had this in a supermarket petrol station i wasnt the only 1 a very expensive lexus had his alarm blaring out and the guy was stumped and a few others couldnt get back into there cars, wondering if there was a frequency jammer going on in the area that stopped you from entering your car,as said any lock on your car wouldve opened it by inserting the key and turning it.any high voltage cables running over head?
  12. do a search on here for maf, sounds like thats your problem.
  13. does it run lumpy? have you checked the maf.
  14. yes you should have it fitted,if working correctly sounds like a jet engine, location is under the rear passenger near side it has a little exhaust comming out of it.it helps the engine/cabin heat up quickly in cold weather yours should come on at around 10-12 degrees take a look in the faqs in the tech section for more info on aux heaters.
  15. whats actually now wrong with the old 1?any chance of a couple of pics plz the only reason i ask is i know someone who would like a galaxy type car but like us all doesnt have a great deal of money, but i susspect as its written off the main body work is fubared?
  16. take a looksie in the faqs, found in the technical section of the forum a lot of your questions/answers can be found in there.
  17. and hugs back :lol: welcome to the forum. shame about your 2.3 have you still got it? 2.8 eh hope youve got long arms and short pockets  enjoy burning everyone up.

  20. as zorg has said, get codes read.but as said could be something like the clock spring.
  21. might be the tensioner? do a search for it,its a common problem.normally you change both the clucth pully and tensioner.
  22. see if you can take out a switch from the other side and test it,if thats not working either then as seatkid says wire problem,it has been known for peeps to check there wires and say everything is ok,then when checking again they find the proplem.
  23. them discs look huge, are they standard?
