If she claims on her insurance, then, by default, your no claims will be affected until the matter is resolved in your favour. CONTACT your insurance and explain - Don't keep talking about speeding etc. it will make the insurance company nervous. Just state the facts - she didnt give way to you and you were already going round the roundabout. Tell them you have photographs and witness statements, that will help tremendously. State you want to claim AGAINST HER. You have no other option! You'd be surprised how bad a car has to be to be written off. Repairs have to cost insurance companies more than 2/3rd the market value of the car. Insurance companies get car repairs at a fraction of what you could. HAVE FAITH!!! Think positive and don't fret about this. There are much more important things in life! My philosophy? Shit happens and it happens to me a lot......I used to worry myself to the extent it made me ill. But NOW I say BOLLOCKS! I'm glad to be alive and i've got kids and a grandchild to think about and enjoy (all though that can sometimes be an uphill struggle!). After all....TOMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY! ^_^ -
Drive Belt/power Steering/accident

Having reread the inital post, I'm of the opinion that MO4 shouldn't have much to worry about. At a roundabout you have to give way to vehicles from the right. Its clear from MO4's description that the other party misjudged or didn't look as she approached and braked too late ending up with her front end over the line. Her only defense is that MO4 was speeding excessively though its clear that for the end situation, MO4 must have been going like the clappers. Photographic evidence and witness statements should help resolve things. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the insurance companies are diligent and don't just give up at the 1st hurdle (dispute) - and go for knock for knock. In any case its clear the other party is going to claim, then MO4 MUST claim to stand a chance. -

Sorry to hear about your accident. Contact your insurance company and give them your account along with any witness details. Don't delay as any delay will only be seen as you being at fault and unwilling to contact them. DONT enter into any conversation or correspondence with the other party or their insurance company.....refer everything to your company. They will know best how to get the other side to cough up. The witness you have will help your story and the insurance hopefully will decide its the other partys fault, in which case they will have to pay for everything and your NCB will remain intact. Keeping fingers crossed for you. Dont think PAS belt snapping will damage anything, although it is most unusual for it to snap. Remember its only a car, its not the end of the world and CHEER UP  ....it'll soon be Christmas!! -
Help Me Please 19tdi Wont Start
seatkid replied to butch's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
You need to check what engine you have 90 / 110bhp :- ?? If the fuel filter is really empty then could be 1. No fuel in tank 2. Blockage in fuel lines Try putting some diesel in, it will require a lot of cranking to pull fuel and fill the filter before it will start The Mk1 relies on mechanical lift pump - located in the fuel injection distributor pump which has a fuel cut-off solenoid which is controlled by the ECU - no relay. 115 bhp (PD) engine :- IIRC This has an electric fuel pump located in the fuel tank -

Clutch Replacement On Mk2
seatkid replied to Bigjeeze's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Sounds more like a slave cylinder problem. Strange noises from release bearings are not uncommon but dont usually warrant the task of a replacement. If its OK now then why not just leave it? Wait until clutch slip is obvious. -

You probably missed the bit we he said "but we had it on the shelf for over a year. Take it back to the garage and demand a replacement under warranty. You should have ample protection under trading laws. -

Injector Wiring Loom Or Glow Plug?
seatkid replied to ronz's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
- No heat from heater - Overheating in high speed Water pump failure - change it and the thermostat at the same time - White smoke when i start the car from the middle of the car Glow plug in aux booster heater needs changing - Very rough running, but once the car warms up I can turn off then on and sometimes it runs fine no sluggishness! Possibly related to water pump issue (wrong temperature reported to ECU) or it may be injector loom or a sensor problem (MAF / temp / crankshaft sensor to name but a few) -
I can still remember that awful morning when I went downstairs and found poor Fluffy the hamster lying upside down with all 4 legs in the air....... :D Oh dear.....the memories are starting to flood back......... that summers afternoon when I reversed out of the drive over that 3 week old kitten who was sleeping by the tyre............ :D If its any consolation Gregers, we I had our 18 year old cat put down 13 years ago, well....the guilt never goes away......the wife still calls me a murderer to this day  And those 4 baby starlings that I drowned still haunt me........ :D

Blame Jatco for its stupid design - there is no easy way for oil level to be checked or filled Blame VW/Ford - most manufacturers claim sealed for life gearbox - no maintenance required Blame VW/Ford - they chose a marginal box and implemented it badly You should have comeback to the trader who sold you the motor but I know this is minefield, particularly after time and repairs have been done.
-
*high mileage / old age / clocked *abuse - towing - driven by a lunatic - chipped *neglect - no oil check/change - incorrect oil used/wrong level *stupidity - vehicle towed - auto boxes generally break up when you tow them at anything above walking pace (internal gears over-rev and lubrication issue) I reckon stupidity+neglect in this case..... after reading many threads its obvious that jatco boxes are extremely marginal in Galaxies (the ecu even has to limit the torque to protect it) Its obvious many owners with an auto that starts to play up will get shut pronto - so buyer beware! ALWAYs take a 2nd hand auto for an extended test drive and check everything about the box is OK. Insist on a warranty if buying from a garage/trader.

Out of interest, how much did you get? ^_^ From what I've been told, its quite possible, if you do it right, to keep re-selling it regularly, usually on a nightly basis! (thats if there are any buyers) :(
