  1. Have you checked in your manual? If there isn't a switch then you'll have to use Eurolites or similar. There are plenty of cheap ones available on ebay!
  2. You probably don't have triple zone climate control as I believe this was only fitted as an option on Ghia models. See the attached manual pages for information and check whether you have the same control panel. Climate Control.pdf
  3. Switching ESP off will have no noticeable effect whatsoever on fuel consumption. It is just a low power electronic sensor system which only activates the brakes when it needs to. So, during normal use, the power drawn from the alternator is negligible.
  4. It appears to be fairly straightforward if you look in your manual. You need to remove the complete headlamp unit first then access to the bulbs is simple.
  5. It has a chain and shouldn't need replacing unless it's obviously worn or noisy or causing you a problem.
  6. Unless you upgraded to a Sony DAB audio unit you won't have a USB port. It's not available on the standard 6000 audio unit in the Zetec:
  7. 32psi all round is for the petrol-engined cars only. As yours is diesel it should be 35psi front/ 32psi rear for normal load rising to 38psi front / 45psi rear for full load.
  8. I'd suggest increasing the idle speed will just mask the real problem.
  9. There are a couple of TSBs relating to power steering failure - 48/2007 and 22/2008. Both suggest updating the Power Steering Control module software. However, you'd need to pay a Ford Dealer to do that!
  10. Check here - http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?showtopic=15916&view=findpost&p=131377.
  11. Check here for compatibility - http://www.ford-mobile-connectivity.com/home. Not all phones are 100% compatible and those tested by Ford have details of what does / doesn't work.
  12. You could try moving the gearstick to the right to put it in Sport mode as you approach the roundabout. This might make the car more responsive?
  13. This is probably biased towards LHD cars as more of these would be built. If it was a simple change Ford would have included it in the manufacture of RHD cars so it probably isn't!
  14. The Mk I engines could cope with biodiesel but the PD engines in the Mk IIs will not tolerate it long term. Definitely do not use it in the Mk III as it is a common-rail type engine with very high fuel pressures. (There is a reason why 5% maximum is stated in the owners manual for both MkIII and MkII cars. Of course the people selling biodiesel will tell you how good it is for your engine!)
  15. I thought that UK models were fitted with electrical (not fuel-fired) booster heaters?
  16. A simple calculation: 500 miles/week at 42mpg =
  17. As long as you're careful not to scratch the lens when removing them (use a mild detergent, warm water and a soft sponge to remove the adhesive residue).
  18. Hence the "Zetec" in relation to the Galaxy denotes the trim level only. The only Ford engines used in the Galaxy were the 2.0 and 2.3 DOHC petrol engines, neither of which were Zetec engines.
  19. Swap the wheel with one from the front and see if the noise follows it. (You'll need axle stands though as you don't have a spare wheel to use during the swap!)
  20. It is a 3 year warranty. The first year is covered by the manufacturer, years 2 and 3 by the Dealer. So, if a problem develops within the 3 years from when it was registered, take it to a Ford Dealer and the warranty will be honoured (as long as the fault is covered by it!)
  21. The S-Max and Galaxy (MkIII) are essentially the same car. Space-wise there's a bit less headroom in the third row of the S-Max because of the way the roof slopes down. So, it's better for kids than adults unless the journey is a short one. However, the S-Max is cheaper than the Galaxy.
  22. The "cover under the bumper" is the piece immediately under the front of the car and is secured in place with 13 screws. The headlamps need to be removed to get access to the screws that secure the bumper at the top. I also forgot to mention the top (radiator) cover that needs to be removed to get access to another two screws.
  23. It's quite an involved procedure: Remove engine undertray Remove the cover under the bumper Remove 2 screws on the front of the wheel arch liner (both sides) Remove headlamps Remove foglamps Remove parking sensors (if fitted) Note: before fitting the new bumper you'll need to drill holes for the parking sensors if you have them fitted.
  24. The fuel-fired type is fitted to diesels in colder climates. For the UK market the electric booster heater is more likely.
  25. All diesel engines in the Galaxy are VW engines. The Zetec is used by Ford to denote the trim level, i.e. basic LX, "sporty" Zetec or "luxury" Ghia. The Zetec model is in the middle of the range so you'll get a bit more equipment than an LX (alloy wheels, parking sensors, etc. on the Mk2) but less than a Ghia (cruise control, all elec. windows, etc.)
