Another Vag Com Question
NikpV replied to daz131's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
expect you'd need to find a long long long hill to get to 36mpg   :D -
spent the next 4 weeks fag money on gum, lozenge or patches (nicotine replacement therapy) it doesnt help with the habit part but certainly reduces the physical symptoms (I have a couple of 2mg lozenges a day now). Better if you go to your local smoking cessation clinic get a prescription it make the cost of giving up bearable

no there are late mk2's mk's and mechanic trainers   oops :25: :D -
better now - often don't think about it when I get up now, occasionally hits me as a craving during the day but couple of minutes it passes. Advantage I have is that no one around me smokes

It appears that it depends on the fault - certainly glowplug open circuit faults didn't need clearing - once the circuit was complete the aux heater fired up no problem, IIRC flame out faults have to be cleared before the heater will fire up again if it gets to the 5(or 3)limit and it never tries starting up. -

on the 'glowplug open circuit error' the connector for the glowplug carries both the earth and the +ve feed and if it at all loose you will get this error, I bought a glowplug (upgraded 340) since the master mechanic at our local ford dealer said we had this error (read as a favour whilst carrying out other work) when I can to change the plug it was clear that the heater had NEVER run the glowplug connectio was loose. It may be worth trying to check the connection since you have had more open circuit dtc's reported. -

I was wrong have dismantled the key and found no LED's this must mean it is radio remote i assume maybe there is something else wrong with the alarm then.....can you tell me where the alarm is actually situated to ensure there are no loose wires and could a faulty alarm cause the interior light fuse to blow hi nik thanks for the advice greatly appreciated..i think you responded on an earlier post i can only find one internal sensor rear window at top(drivers side) If you don't have a little dome near the rear view mirror then is a radio remote, low battery as SK said can cause intermittent problems, probably worh changiong the battery (don't lose the pats chip). You may need to reprogram the remote after - click on the faq link in my signature and look for 'reprogramming the sharan remote' - same as gal. we assume that the antenna for the remote is in the main control box (13) - pictured here on a lhd sharan (haven't got a gal diagram umm only thing I know of here is the aerial on the window

Would the pinned dedicated thread Here qualify - incidentally these are uploaded photos which has the advantage of automatically thumbnailing - linked photos use less server space but if the external server goes down then we just have gaps, also if photos are not sized correctly then it completely distorts the thread foreverybodies viewers
