There is a temperature sensor in the heater - all my diagrams are at home though :( - will post a pic tonight if nobody else has :)

First off check the operation of the brake lights and go from there! a duff brake light switch can bring up this fault! hit the search engine for more cases of this weired fault! umm wonder if that is a wired fault or a weird fault either could be true - perhaps you are saving wear and tear on the keyboard :angry: :) :D

Norton utilities used to be great in the good ole days of Dos 3, 5 windows 3.0 but now their products have become so flakey they have to give them away, either with new computers or in special offers in places such as PC world, the only piece of their software I have is Ghost for lack of a decent alternative, when they bought out powerquest (partition magic and DI) acronis trueimage etc but ghost is still there. The other thing I dislike about Norton is the lengths you have to go to do a complete uninstall :angry:

Cheers Hairy. They have a depot about 3 mls from home so may pop in to have a chat. Nothing to loose. Got to do something as its awfull in the sun and nearly hit somone on a zebra crossing the other day cos it was dazling me so much just had autoglass out to do a couple of stone chips (on insurance) and he cracked old screen (chip too close to edge) so had it replaced (needed two of them) cost us

I wouldn't grease it though as this tends to attract all the crap and you end up in the same boat. Normally a light oil will do the trick. yes good thought - I didn't think that through :P
