On a similar note - I've just replaced the mini-disc player in my escort with a cheap head CD head unit which playes MP3's - it also has a SD card slot (up to 2Gb I think) on the front and a usb port to take those usb 'disk drives ' musch better, I have several directories on my PC with music on and copy it straight to the sd cards ( have 3 which are dirt cheap) I carry far more music with me now in one of thaose little wallets - works a treat HU cost about
G 052 162 A2 (for 1L) is what it says in elsawin for and auto (it only lists one automatic gearbox I thinlk this is a 4 speed ) see this thread for 5 speed I think in this thread
first port of call here - I would check the wires in the rubber boot between the door and car the insulation breaking down and shorts - the wires become brittle and break
My car was produced May 04, and it is originally a six seater. There is definatelly no mounting point,it looks as all the mounting points and belt guides are placed on a metal plate that is missing ! I thought the body would be the same in all versions of the Mk2...Cannot understand why making variations of roofs is cheaper than adding the un-neccesary plate anyway out of interest do you have the bulge in the centre of the headlining at the back running towards the front about 4 inches wide - where the reel is/will be installed?
just make sure that the pictures are clear enough judging by some of the clarity on the pictures some post around here they may not show up the correct car (no names mentioned .,,,,,)
Any news Nick? right I've pulled the head lining down and was very surprised to find that the reel for the seat belt is mounted right at the back by the tail gate - the part that it mounts on looks just like the bit in the diagram, the flat edge on the rhs appaers to mount along the back of the car leavinving the thing at a angle with the seatbelt running in the groove (below right of the 3 'grooves' on your diagram) the plate appears to be bolted/screwed to the car roof.
one way would be to add this site to your trusted site list and make sure the custom settings allow scripted windows - umm not sure I would but better than allowing scripted windows generally
