  1. glad its sorted - I have to say most dont buy the Galaxy until they're starting on the 3rd child   but nothing like being prepared - expecting a large family then????
  2. if you put it in thre tiptronic mode it doesn't matter if you don't need it, if you have to come to a full stop then put it back in automode, I'm not sure its a gear selection problem so much as a 'gear engagement' ie clutch type thing - it seems to almost freewheel up to a junction/roundabout doesn't seeem to be any engine braking, I've driven two auto galaxies and both have been like it, there has been some discusssion about it before on here IIRC
  3. typical woman
  4. put the autobox into 'tiptronic' mode ie pull lever to right on the approach, it seems to keep the most appropriate gear then and whenever you touch the accelerator it responds with no delay, as soon as you are accelerating move the lever back to full auto - works for me  just right for nipping into that gap, I don't always use this method it depends on the traffic conditions, obviously you can do the whole thing in tiptronic if you want but this works fine.
  5. Wasn't this a major problem with early? mondeos - I remember a watchdog (sad) program with it on
  6. could just cover them with labels (tasteful/coloured) don't know the system so can't be more specific
  7. If you slide the passenger seat forward you should be able to get your hand in and feel to see if its still wet, the unit for the parking sensors is under there - even if its now dry there the unit itself is probably wet - take it out and let it dry out - don't know if you can take it apart to help it though :ninja: welcome to the forum BTw :( best put your car details in your sig click on the red links in my signature if you need a pointer
  8. I'll agree with that and so apparentlly does El Doggo Dingo :ninja:   :(
  9. thanks for that - as long as you don't mind I have included the link above in the 'pinned' useful links post at the top of the technical section Usefiul Links (external to the site)
  10. 1. Crud - bits of gear etc in box 2. went into limp home mode 3. oh yes ...................... mind you it was probably because a new autobox was put on :angry2:
  11. up to now I've always gone with dunlops or michelin pilots but now that there are a few more makes around and peeps are reporting that they are ok I may well try some next time - I've never worried about the makes of tyre on the escort estate when it was the family runabout so I don't know why I do with the Galaxy. back in 2002 when we first got the galmI couldn't find anything but these makess in the correct size/rating but that is now changing :)
