  2. the link 'search' at the top right is a good start  or if that is missing then bottom left change the skin selector and the link top right should appear, alternatively you could do what most do and re-post it again anyway :P :P by one lousy minute James
  3. new remote key was
  4. straight up on the temp gauge is supposedly 90c coolant temp
  5. remember that tangoing peeps was banned(at school) due to burst eardrums
  6. well you've not been naughty enough then 0% is normal but I think coming from wales you should start on 20% :( :( :( :(
  7. you can make a boot floppy from a tab in control panel which you can use to boot up the lappy
  8. have to agree with richaber here, the vauxhall which wouldn't start due to the pump had progressively poorer starting beforehand and nothing they did could get it to run whether hot or cold :(
  9. have you got an xp home/pro setup cd - if so put it in the drive and try a repair installation
  10. start>help and support > undo changes to your system and restore computer blimey 10 posts in 8 mins
  11. can you boot into safe mode - i think holding down f8 ? while booting
  12. the filename appears to be missing off the end of the error message (if there is a floopy drive and cd drive take te disks out before trying to boot it up)
  13. I was editing my post to say the same as you were posting, how many miles has the car done? - apologies if this is somewhere within the thread, not only has it suddenly failed but done so beyond reconditioning in the space of a week (assuming that these can be reconditioned - IIRC they work at extremly high pressures 2000Atm springs to mind - I sure someone will be along to take the P*ss if its not :) )
  14. :P :) :P not thought about it like that before :)
  15. ahh different thread but a familiar tone Wolfie??
  16. i've wound the switch out so the switch has a gap when fully pressed nope! press and hold the pedal down, then pull the plunger out of the switch to it's full length, then release the pedal, job done! by the sounds of it all you have done is twisted the switch in it's mounting plate thinking that the locating lugs are use to adjust the switches position! to be honest it sounds likes the switch is on it's way out! replace it and be done with it ps. the adjustment method I suggest is the old style adjustment! apparently there is a new style switch that has a different adjustment/setting technique? some year details from the OP may help to work out what type of adjustment is needed Darren why don't you put your car details in your signature (click on the red link in my sig for a pointer if needed)
  17. yes I know all about the grief "you think more of that b***** site/forum than you do about me ....." :)
  18. like you I leave a browser window open (actually a tab of ie7 or firefox) so it looks logged in even more than it is :)
  19. in what way have you 'adjusted the switch'?
  20. in my experience it ends up as you and the dealer vs Ford in the several run ins I've had, if you have the paperwork from the original dealer I would take it and find one that knows which end of the wrench to monkey with! There seems little love lost between dealers generally (unless there is some local aggreement) The current dealer appears to be inadquate in the ability department if they can't work out how to test the heater before returning the car to you I don't think I'd trust them with anything more complicated than a bulb replacement, where is the coolant weeping from (and did it always do it - from new)?
  21. whilst outside temp is low enough it will stay on - they are two levels of operation abot 2kW and about 5kW depending on heater version fitted - will go ito low power mode when engine temp reaches 75 ish -but it still runs :)
  22. possibly a block in one of the drains near the filter is causing it to become soaked, may be why its been fine and now its suddenly become a problem
  23. glow plugs should come on briefly however warm certainly does on our mk2, if it starts from cold its not the glowplugs - look elsewhere what would bother me is that the lack of the glowplug light may indicate that the startup sequence is not being instigated correctly so resulting in lack of fuelling and so not starting.......
  24. pumpkin colour yuk :) ps: sort of colour Baz might go for :25: :23:
