  1. why - the post you have replied to is a year old ?
  2. elsawin has the startup sequence - as luck would have it my copy has decided to throw an error message - if I can repair it I'll let you know. I think if you are going to try an sort it it would be useful to bypass the external temp sensor so providing the coolant temp is below 75c it should fire - at least this will remove some of the doubt about whether it should start. If you then take it apart after a failed startup attempt anydiesel on the plug would indicate that fuel is getting through. If the connection to the glowplug has worked loose then it could cause the intermittent startup problems(both earth and supply are on the same connector and a slightly loose connectionwill cause a problem.
  3. IIRC - water damage in the electronics can cause this - have it apart and have a look - you can replace blown resistors if its this .
  4. Ive added a diagram see above
  5. IIRC there is a screw accessed through a hole near the latch I think its 6 in this diagram
  6. what could be accelerating the process is the reduction of global dimming (reducing particle emissions - see London smogs last century)
  7. yes leaves a horrid aftertaste

  11. who said the engine was in the car :o sshh - just keeping him ticking over
  12. fair enough just that we never have those vents working and sacrificing the cup holder use didn't seem too much of a penalty - could line the bottom up with the top of the radio :o
  13. an idea - not a solution - coiuld you slide the monitor out and hinge it down so it covers the vents and cup holders cutting a couple of slots in the sides of the lid to accomodate the plastic runners :o
  14. saw the ad for the solenoid where you said that it was another problem so did you sort it? - what was it ?
  15. and High torque - at least 310nm :o :o   Not with what your driving  funny thats what the dynamometer reads :o

  19. there are several posts on this on this subject, you just have to search under the right names ............... hopefully we will know where to find this one then - in the faq - saves too much searching :D
  20. wonder if it would help surfing the site with a pda ?? what advantages does it give ? ps don't have a wap phone (mine still has 'press button A and button B' :D :D :D
  21. nice one - from memory  needs adding to faq :D :D
  22. I'm sure we can find the back of an old cigarette packet used by an alhambra mechanic with the 'correct' torque figures on  or failing that the last will and testament of a ford dealership manager who had a divine revelation on a trip to loudres to cure his guilty concience on mis-selling a galaxy to a widow on the basis of inaccurate torque figures.
  23. as you can see the red ringed emoticon doesn't appear but the arrowed graphics in the signature still do - you have to turn off signatures completely to get rid of them
  24. may be a browser thing them cos I can't see images in posts but I stilll get them in the signatures - not just mine either - running opera 8.6 on a hx4700 ipaq! Would care on my desktop but takes up so much room on my pda screen.
  25. what wires did they solder? temperature sensor u/s telling ecu to keep overfuelling when engine has warmed up ?
