  1. slightly off topic - I thought the fluid change was to prevent the water picked up by the fluid(hydroscopic) corroding the pipes
  2. only if they have corroded - damage leads to accelerated corrosion but dont know how much/timescale here
  3. lubricate the bendix gear.... sounds like its not sliding back down the shaft quickly enough so its being driven by the flywheel after the engine has started
  4. from the side it looks like doors from a different car have been put on - I'm sure each part is a good paint job but it looks like a patchwork quilt
  5. usually by dealers/kwik fit not using the jacking points (arrows embeded in sill)
  6. only the little exhaust from the heater itself
  7. yes look here - took about an hour IIRC
  8. oh bu**er Sh*t .... got one of the new wire ended glwplug - planned to change tomorrow but .... just went to the shops ... the heater fired up .... now why - loose connection on glowplug or the glowplug efficiency has gone down - only 7.5 degrees tonight, the other morning when it wouldn't fire up it was -1 degrees what do you think folks ?????
  9. ah cheers gregers - will try changing the plug first
  10. have a look here
  11. more likely a sticky drink from the wonderfully placed cup holders - assuming that you have the climate control unit below these
  12. thanks m8 I would have but managed to get a discount from the dealer and will pickup tomorrow
  13. ~I thought that the 2.3 were Ford engines - maybe wrong though since I drive a diesel
  14. I thought they introduced and uprated tensioner/belt combination so that even if you have a car earlier than 2003 the newer specced kit will change the interval
  15. had a look but they dont appear new - whatever the description says
  16. bloody hell -
  17. Great - aux heater didnt fire up this morning just clouds of smoke - time for another new glowplug I think (hope) I got the last one from Hans motors 4 years ago - anybody got one from elsewhere recently - how much ?
  18. good luck ... I have to say I've thought about the same in the past ...
  19. glad to have been some help
  20. get a standard key while you are there - if you lose 1 then you can program the replacement yourself cos you will still have 2 keys
  21. yes only having a single key means that the main dealer is needed to program the key (for the PATS) (using their equivalent of vag-com - wds2000, vag-com can do it but you need a special code from the dealer) apparently the same can be done by some auto locksmiths although the only quote I've seen here is
  22. but bleeno is a thief he stole it from popdorset who has had that avatar for several years  :D
  23. as a comparison - if you have twokeys already - ford main dealer charged us
  24. low/contaminated oil in the gearbox?? have a look here
