  1. lok for breaks in the wire from drivers door to pillar - well known for breaking see faq (click on link in my sig) several posts there
  2. I gather that the clips screws etc are availble from seat for about
  3. defo need to look at the wires for the windows - if the switch for the sunroof is on the door then you may be able to sort this as well
  4. Early model 2000/2001 gals used up some of the components from the mk1 - we had this situatoin and if was found that there were some incompatiblities between sender and fuel gauge - Ford eventually change the instruments which got rid of the problem (not quite the same as yours) under warantty despite it being out of warantty by the time they resolved the problem - may be similar to your prob though some discussion here alternatively do a search with " slow, fuel " and my username - will get some hits
  5. still works fine for me  :(
  6. I'm having problems. Not enough money, sub teenage kids who think they are right almost all of the time, nobody to love in my life ........ :) snap :)
  7. teacher mode on ' you're practising ' teacher mode off don't know -don't talk to parents  B)
  8. you wouldn't believe how true !! btw I'm currently a practising teacher (I know I know after 20years I should have got the hang of it by now  ) and was in school in the seventies
  9. ' central locking was moved to the bulkhead (near knees of passenger) and the parking senspor move under the passenger seat - not sure when though
  10. welcome  B)
  11. if this were a galaxy I would say that its a fairly good chance (and simple investigation) that its the wires through the rubber boot between door and body - either insulation breaking down and shorting or wires themselves broken (likely here) have a look at the faq - maybe the same in a ka
  12. I just remember the picture with lots of the front end/heating dissemmbled(not neccessarily to replace the resistor pack) and the little resistor pack dwarfed by the rest - wasn't it posted on the pic site because we couldn't upload images way back then or had it been reposted here ?
  13. resistor pack gone - somewhere there is a topic showing this I think posted by fredt/vr6galaxy/wolfie :D where most of the dash is dissembled and a little green(IIRC maybe red) is shown - memory slightly fuzzy here
  14. and how likely is that !!!!!http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/style_emoticons/default/16.gif
  15. PATS- passive anti-theft system GEM - General Electronic Module (IIRC) (handles remote central locking) -
  16. if this is a normal key (not remote central locking) by all means get a blade cut and then if you have 2 working (runs the engine) keys you can program (PATS) the new one, if you havent got those keys then you will have to get Ford to program it (if this doesnt give you 3 working keys then get 2 - if you lose one you can do the reprogramming yourself) if its a remote key then the above applies to getting the PATS sorted out - in addition then you need to program the GEMS system to accept it (you have to program all remote keys at the same time)
  17. surely thats what he means by following the faq ? btw chip is separate to the blade on both type of key
  18. my interpretation of both the english language and the replies different to yours ;) ;)
  19. not a big job but a main dealer will usually charge an hours labour ..
  20. using vag-com/wds2000 (or as jaroth pointed out using the equivalent from the heater manufacturer.... incidentally its only faults which shut theheater down after start up need resetting - faults which dont allow it to start e.g glowpug open circuit will not cause it to lockout (and need resetting)
  21. when we all know it wasn't worth that when you got it and ... well depreciation .......
  22. I understand (from canadian relatives) that snow chains are out of the 'winter tyres' league for snow - but you can only drive at a slow speed with chains on
  23. what is the difference between winter and all weather tyres? softer compound? deeper tread? embedded diamonds ????
