  1. item 13 is the central locking module - I would assume the antenna is in there
  2. AFAIK It doesn't have any obvious outward appearance - the IrD remotes which preceeded the wirless had a couple of dark red domes
  3. cheeky bu**ers - can just see it now , probably didn't fit a new switch
  4. I ran the xp 64bit edition for a while on mine (desktop) seemed much crisper at the time but lack of mobo support meant the fans ran full speed - too noisy so I downgraded again soory don't know about 2003 server at all
  5. I'm pretty certain ny problem is a wire in the loom - fiddling with it makes it work, funny thing is the window motor makes a noise like yours when it doesnt work - Ithinking about it I would check your wires again
  6. eventually we got another instrument cluster 2 years later (out of warranty) it took ford that long to sort out the slow fuel gauge problem, we only got the check pad warnong a couple of times during those two years the bonnet switch was never mentioned once
  7. as you suggest - glass or motor jammed - I assume you have tried someone pushing down at the same time as operating the switch, tried with both drivers door switch and passenger door switch - odd I know but I have a rear window which closes and opens fine from switches , opens with global opening but wont close using global closing :( ?
  8. how about the aux heater, difficult to check - will only come on when ambient temp is less than 5C and coolant less than 75C - in warm weather the only way is to short the temp sensor (on wiper linkage) and start from cold - aux heater should fire, under the car in front of near side rear wheel and especially the air con - see the faq for the outlet temps for ambient temps
  9. no the temp sensor for the aux heater is on the wiper linkage :(
  10. on the remote - first press locks - second quick press deadlocks and disables alarm - look at flashing led on the door
  11. unfortunately to confuse the issue we had the instrument cluster changed under warranty - which may have eventually sorted out the problem - don't really know - didn't know much about the car then :(
  12. did have the check break pad problem a long time ago - dealer changed pads repeatedly until it went away - 3 sets
  13. have you tried the global opening from the key in the lock - turn to unlock and hold - windows should open, with global closing the safety interlock is overridden - don't know if opening is the same - would help if window is a bit tight.
  14. how about trying to get a trial version of alcohol 120% and trying, have you burnt any other image since you tried this one, how big is the image
  15. providing you deadlock the car of course :(
  16. for hissing sound look here I think you may have two separate problems
  17. sounds like a temp sensor has gone out of spec
  18. sorry mate no answer :(
  19. don't know but with our Ghia we got remote key + plain key (no torch) so if you're correct then it would imply that op has torch key from first combination - confirming suspicion that it does not have remote cl. Ps new 2006 ghias have two remote keys
  20. FWIW Ford call their ultrasonic movement detector - perimeter and VOLUME sensing alarm check on their site under safety and security
  21. According to ford site current zetec models don't have remote central locking but I've lost my brochure and so can't be sure - of the 17 on ebay atm only 4 specify it - if its important to you I would do as zeplin suggested, ask the dealer to sort out a key (even if you have to pay for it) - you could of course get an aftermarket kit fitted, probably less than fords price for a new key about
  22. Welcome to the forum Do you know what trim level - LX, Zetec or Ghia the car is - Ghia has remote central locking as standard A remote key will set you back about
