  1. yep had similiar with dirty carb & needles but hardly likely the same cause here, funny that it does it on an incline - does it matter which way (nose up or down)
  2. Mini Itx sell 12 power supplys off the shelf! If I could save a few pennies I would definitely look at mini-itx - very interesting if a touch expensive :16: "you will tell me where you've hidden my wallet ... you will :5:
  3. Does it do this when its hot or cold or both, I think you will need to try and isolate the symptoms a little, it doesnt sound like the maf if it pulls ok going up hill it sounds more and more like a fuelling problem. I have to say though that I would exclude the MAf - it takes 60 sec to disconnect and a quick drive up and down the road (& hill) to confirm its not that - quick and cheap. When you have to give it a bit of throttle - does it stutter or smoothly increase the revs??
  4. Guy here looking for one looking for parking sensor I did reply to his post but I think he was offline by that time
  5. My escort leaks from the bottom door seal - its not at all obvious when its not raining although talcing the floor area made one glance enough to see the problem so if you don't have someone to help try it this way
  6. ahh ah so you wern't at school yesterday then ... Neil ... Neil, where did you say she was ????? ah learning to count to ........5 really :5: :16:
  7. Blimey all starting to sound a bit boy racer to me :48: :16: -_- :(
  8. Cheers for the information & pictures - looks nasty, I'm sure that I can speak for all of us - wishing her well and a speedy recovery, I hope (and feel sure) that she is young enough to get over the trauma caused Wishing you well Kelly & Nik (+kids of 7, 4 & 7 months)
  9. no - science teacher, its the sort of trivia you pick up, the kids... students always want to know about that sort of thing :48:
  10. If you're on Evil Cat H later, I *might* tell you. tempting :48:
  11. yes at a reduced partial pressure
  12. thats my problem ..... thats what we need to solve first :48:
  13. Actually you are both correct - at elavated pressures >1.6 atm acute oxygen toxicity sets in quickly, at normal atm pressure the effects take longer 24 - 30 hours before subjects show signs of pulmonary oedema and at reduced partial pressures you can breathe pure oxygen for extended periods of time. As usual only headline figures are looked at.
  14. Ahh ... you've got a seat then or was it free from there ?? dunno waiting for some more info ..... from him :16:
  15. Looks good man. cnat wait to see your step buy step guide to fitting the monitors! :48: with pictures ... while holding the headlining in the other hand - good luck :16:
  16. once you're on the map you can nudge your flag to the correct place - the name doesnt change though .
  17. Sorry we had two keys when we got ours and bought another straight away - cost us
  18. I am assuming from your information that at some time your drivers door lock has been replaced and is not original on the car. So you have a normal key which operates the drivers door, this will have a PATS chip in it but since it doesn't fit in the ignition lock it cannot be programmed to disable the PATS (immobiliser) it can only be used to open the drivers door. You also have a remote key with both the PATS chip and a wireless transmitter. It is probably on of the original keys, it opens the passenger side door , tailgate and the ignition. The PATS chip is encoded so it disables the immobiliser and so it starts the engine. If the transmitter was working you could program the remote locking function but it doesn't appear to be. Because you only have one PATS encoded key you will need to get a new key (to run the car) encoded by fords or some good auto locksmith (I assume) you may get it cut at lots of places but it will need encoding to start the car. If you want further keys to unlock the drivers door you will just need to get it cut (No PATS) Hope this helps
  19. too busy trying to work out why you're a spy but you have a galaxy :23:
  20. PATS - Passive anti theft System This is a chip in a working key and a reader near the ignition switch unless the key can turn the ignition lock and the PATS recognises the chip in the key the car will not start. up to 8 (I think) keys can be remembered by the car. This has nothing to do with locking or unlocking the car or remote lock/unlocking the car. There is no battery in the key only a little chip which is activated by the reader and sends the code back to the reader. ALL keys which can start and run the car must have this chip in. If you have two keys which fit the ignition lock and both of which run the car (both chips are memorised) then you can program more keys to be recognised by the PATS (post 97-before 97 it needed a special red key). If you don't have two keys more keys can be proframmed by FORD using wds system. The Remote key has both the PATS chip and a Wireless transmitter in powered by a battery. The key generates a code and transmits it (code changes every time it is memorised by the car (programmed) The car can remember 4 different remote keys but the csar has to be taught the code that is transmitter by each in the same programming session. You can program any number of remotes (up to 4) by putting GEM into learn mode (3 unlocks in drivers door) while in learn mode pressing the lock button and holding it while pressing the unlock button 3 times makes the transmitter key change to a new code and allows it to be memorised by the car. (all other remoites are then forgotten) All remote keys must be programmed at the same time. Phew - Hope this help
  21. ????????????????????
  22. Well thanks to GoofyGolfer I have changed the sensor which when pressed gave the high pitched bleep, parking sensors work so well have to see if the intermittent problem reappears :23:
  23. ok so you may not have that type of alarm, vag com came up with the error in the alarm system so I would assume that it must have one but I'm not sure what the options are on a Mk1 - possibly someone whos had a Mk1 can help you,
