Dave, I bought an Alpine underseat active sub and it fitted smashing. Just do a google on Alpine active sub and you'll see what I mean. Improved the the sound no-end and I'm going to fit it to the Mondy when I get some spare time.

Shuddering Under Acceleration

Andy have you checked the engine roll restrictor? I know they are fitted to the diesels but not sure whether they are fitted to yours. Might be worth a look? -
Welcome back Broom broom ...... must admit I like the Puma and you don't see that many on the road.

Ikkle Spiders can find their way into and tend to make their homes around the ultrasonic sensors. So check for webs and then tell them to p*** off! -
Hi Digg and welcome to the site. Would have been nice of you to tell us about the car you own.

I had the 17552 on mine constantly even after substituting a new MAF and according to a freindly VW teckie if it's showing intermittent, they ignore it. The 17564 and 17569 indications are caused usually by a dirty TMAP sensor. You can reset the aux heater codes and bypass the temp sensor to get the booster heater to fire up. If you get further flame outs then the glow plug needs replacing or wiring to the heater checked.

Hiya Cantona and welcome to the site. Personally I would not recommend "chipping" as the PD engines are just about at their upper limits when it comes to getting a few more BHP out of them. I know a few members on here will tell you that they have had problemspost chipping.

I had no problem with accessing the site Steve and I did try to stick a screen dump of the page you were after on this forum but to no luck I'm afraid. Anyway, it came out at a 5 Star for the front passengers with a score of 37. The rear passengers came out at 4 stars with a score of 35 and pedestrians came out at 2 stars which is pretty standard for a large MPV.

Mary have a close look around the dvd drive area for a little "pin-hole". This is the manual eject button where you stick a pin in the hole and out she pops.

Nah ....... If the other gears are OK then I wouldn't worry too much. I would certainly change the gearbox oil for piece of mind and keep an ear out to see if it gets worse.
-
I'm not an expert on these gearboxes but have done a few on Sierras. One way of checking the clutch release bearing or the thrust bearing, as suggested by Seatkid, is to leave the car in neutral with the engine running and dip the clutch. If you stand outside the car with the bonnet open and listen around the clutch area you'll normally hear the bearing "whirring" and if the noise goes whilst someone else dips the clutch then thats a dry clutch release bearing. So it only whines when coasting in 5th? ..... What about 6th? If it's just 5th then its probably the 5th gear that's worn. When was the last time the gear box oil was changed?

If you want the alloys done properly I can highly recommend the link below. The Gal wheels are diamond cut by the way so its not cheap to get them done properly. http://www.wheelrefurbishing.co.uk/ You could also try Wicked wheels.
