  1. Aaaaahhhh the Mk 2 Granny. Remember dad had a 2.8 estate auto with all the chrome bits on. Mmmmm nice
  2. At the end of the day petrol owners like petrol and diesel owners like diesel so its down to the individual. If someone else was going to pay all my petrol costs then yes i would think about the V6 because it is a great car but having owned both there is no way in the world i would go back to fueling a V6 out of my own pocket. The best way is to try a couple of oil burners to see what you think. When i bought mine it was the first diesel Gal i had driven and i thought it went very well. Even though i was partexing a 3 litre diesel BMW which was much faster than the Gal i soon got used to it and as i said before how often can you use much power nowadays
  3. I had a V6 a few years ago and hated the bloody thing. Yes i am a bit lead footed but on average only got 20 mpg and that was a combination of short and long journeys. You say about power but i didnt find that. It was too heavy for any sort of performance even with a v6 and how often do you get the chance to use the power of ANY car on todays over crowded roads. Put an oil burner against it and it wont be that far behind but getting double mpg. Sorry to upset any V6 owners but thats only my opinion and you probably hate us diesel scinflints anyway :D
  4. You have a point greg about pre released films and going to the cinema. I think it depends on the type of film as some films are much better at the cinema. I friend of mine  has a copy of the bond film and the quality is spot on
  5. No your quite right it shouldnt be sold on here Go to one of the other 10 million outlets to buy them. Pirate copies are everywhere and it will probably never stop Cant understand anyone who sits down with a beer in the comfort of their armchair to watch casino royale
  6. Well finally got round to having a complete set of new boots fitted today. :) Been looking at the MyTyres web site and was very pleased at the prices i saw, but have read some iffy reports on here the last couple of weeks regarding delivery times etc so decided maybe not as my old ones were getting a bit low. ;) Rang round almost every dealer in town and ended up going back to the first one i rang. (Dont women do that with clothes?) Went for a set of Accelera Alpha. Never heard of them before but look a nice chunky tread. They are reinforced with a 97 load index and a speed rating of ZR, which is just what you need on a diesel Gal. :) I see Mytres are knocking them out for about
  7. Dropped my hammer on the screen the other day ooooopppsssss  National windscreens fitted a new one and done a good job and it doesnt leak
  8. Welcome to nut house. Im sure youll have a mad time on here, Theyre a good bunch and full of usefull/useless info :D
  9. What is it with country nowadays. Nobody gives a toss anymore and no one has any job satisfaction. So what if your car is over full with oil, thats your problem not mine I only let the chimps have it if i really have to. Doing my own servicing means the service book doesnt get stamped but so what. At least i know what has been done has been done right
  10. Yes heard the show myself. The Sky scam was something to do with cutting the wires i think. Thought the idea of sharing the multi room package with a neighbour was a good idea.
  11. Oh dear. Very true tho Ive had same problem before, need the car to get the kids from school so dropped it off at the crack of dawn only to find its still not done by the time they PROMISED when booking it in
  12. If anyone fancys going to have a wiggle let me know please. it does flex but the end panels should be pretty solid The two end panels by the wiper arms are solid, its just the middle one. The washers are positioned fine so its probably ok just have to see if it flies off on the motorway :)
  13. by percussive do you mean you give it a tonking with an object of a hard substance   Oooooohhhhh i say matron
  14. AT LAST They have at last done the sodding thing. Two guys came out to do the job. It looked like rain again so they got a move on. Total time from start to finish was 30mins. Hhhhhmmmmmm Have to wait and see i spose All the bits of trim they removed are back on ok, not sure if the middle piece where the washer jets are fitted is a bit loose but i dont know what it was like before. If anyone fancys going to have a wiggle let me know please. Gave the wiper linkage a good squirt the best i could whilst the trim was out. Interesting to see if i need wellies the next time it rains
  15. something to do with having aircon - IIRC Yeh i wish mine had a sunroof. Climate is very nice but sometimes its nice just to have a bit of fresh air
  16. O yes, plan on doing that. I must say they have been very good in keeping in contact over the last week trying to arrange times etc. Then again i havnt paid anything yet so thats why.
  17. You cant trust anyone nowadays National windscreens have tried 4 times to do my screen now No falt of their own, just keeps bloody raining. Car will go in garage but not enough room over the top of roof to get the old screen out so has to be done outside. Fingers crossed will get do 2morrow
