  6. could this be something to do with the camber of the road, aren't roads slightly offset so as the rainwater can run off to the gutters ? as we drive on the left the road in the centre will be flat (in most other countries it is!!!) and to the n/s slightly offset for rain runaway ,my tyres are the same and i think this could be the explanation :o (waits in anticpation to be shot down in flames ;) )
  7. That's a very good price is that, makes a mockery of what they are quoting Iceboy, might be worth you phoning that dealer Iceboy and get the service managers name then speak to your dealer and ask him to see if he would be prepared to ask why that another dealer can do it for

  11. Have been onto aa and all things i qouted are covered, the price quoted is for thier 5star cover, when i checked this on the aa site it stated that turbo, abs and aircon/climate where extras and would cost more to have them added,so back on the phone 2mins after speaking to an aa agent , new agent came on and i explained that i was told all things were included but website said not certain items, new agent told me to ignore website she was qouting me from aa bible and all were included,so i'm going for this one :D
  12. Mo4, have just recieved a qoute from the AA for their prestige cover and qouted for 2yrs
  13. the wheels on the vehicle look a lot larger than standard x5 alloys therefore the insurance will argue that the cars handling was compromised due to this, he hasn't got a cat in hells chance, and looking at the damage i'd say he was driving at an illegal speed. :D
  14. Not me ;) (smug git) mines working fine ;)
  15. That's the one i'm thinking on having, i know it's a bit dear but i think with the mot and srvice bit and all the other bits and bobs it's not to bad at all, i will wait to get the package delivered first and give it the once over,i would be a bit concerned about the type of oil they would use bit would stress to them that it needs to be the specific type and as i can get it from ford at a fraction of the price would they be willing to let me supply my own, keep you informed ;)
  16. mo4 did you get a qoute for just warranty or did you click on the motoreasy-all-in-one qoute on the right hand side of the site, this includes a service every 12.000miles or 12 months which ever comes first and also a mot and retest and repirs upto the total of
  17. Just looking at extended warranty option and came across this link and was wondering if any of you thought it to be a good deal,my quote was
  18. Makes me smile every time i visit the in laws as it is on his drive ;)
  19. If they come from the factory as standard then the insurance should pick up on them from registration ;) but i would imagine anything you change on a car that's not factory spec within reason then it could void your policy.
  20. Not sure if i am in the right area to post this but i think it should come under technical, right, the sister in laws next door neighbour (arsehole) had a coming together with what looks like a lampost in his 55 plate BMW X5, frontend bollocksed and a big crease down the roof where the lampost came to rest :D insurance wouldn't pay him out because being an arsehole that he is he didn't inform them that he was going to fit some non factory fitted alloys <_< so if in doubt ask your insurance :D
  21. I think i had this on my passat diesel as well as the gal, on the sump there is a sensor which monitors the oil level when not running and there is a oil light switch somewhere else on the engine that monitors the pressure so it's like a double safety feature, clever these germans <_<
  22. Core plugs are fitted into the engine block and are designed to pop out if the the water in the engine freezes (if not enough anti-freeze in engine)so as not to damage the block, my first car a mk3 cortina had a problem with water loss and couldn't find the foojer for ages and only noticed it by luck, a core plug was leaking through a very small pin hole but was going onto the exhaust manifold so was evaporating without a trace , these plugs are situated around various parts of the engine and iirc there are some fitted behind the flywheel, hope it's the hose and not a core plug, hope this helps you :D
  23. possiblly core plug?
